4-Point Harness Question
-
-
Just wondering was there a reason to not buy the camloc? I know nothing about seat belts and never use them around home and they are not reqired in South Carolina in the SlingShot. But was thinking about a 4 point set for riding in the twisties. If someone could answer this. Thanks

Technically cam locks are for off road use. It is somewhat a safety issue if you were in an accident and someone had to get you out of the seatbelt / harness. That is why seatbelts in cars have an orange release button that says to push it press here. It is just easier to use the push button release also.

Thanks @BlackDeath maybe I will install this set over the winter. If it gets cold enough that I can not ride.

Plus that red button make them DOT approved.
Long story short way back we had a wreck in a street rod - full race harnesses. Insurance would not cover the injuries because we did not have DOT belts. Since then I always make sure belts are DOT. -

Thanks Mitch, had not though of that one. Did not notice if the Cipher was Dot approved or not.

Jut make sure they can supply certification. / May even be coded on the belt tags

Which of the Schroth models do you use? I'm looking at the Rallye, but trying to figure out if it would work with the sling.

I am using Profi II- FE
But check with @WraithSS I think he may be using the Rallye II and they are considerably less expensive

Here is the belts for right and left I bought mine from HMS Motorsports 888-467-3269. They had excellent customer service. I had someone break my cam lock and they replaced it for free, fast turn around time.
If you are cutting through the plastic and are using the roll bar mount bolt you will need these!!!!
Qty. 4 srB24.15.13.NC Schroth Bolt On 15degree 13mm 2inch/3inch fold 16.5 should be about $2.75 each = $11 plus tax and shipping if applied.
Now the pads well I highly recomend them and they are also not cheap but they are worth it.
Sr 00229 Schroth Pads 3inch Black w/Silver Schroth Racing badge $79.95 each $159.90 total

@V-SHOT, I think your wife's MOD disease is contagious. Check this shit out. New seats won't even be here until Monday, and she's already plotting.
@MACAWS, on top of the turbo ride I need you to take her on, this will give her a chance to check out how the harnesses feel.

This is the entire original thread on the seat belts / harnesses people used and some install pictures which may help if you have not seen.
4 point Corbeau Harnesses, Sparco, Beard, Tanaka or PRP
Here is a picture of mine all done with the pads.. I had the pads sent to Maggie Valley because they were not going to get to me in time before I left.

Big fan of the blue there. Nice look.

My pleasure - Colette actually likes the 4 point better than the stock belts. Something about my driving technique make it more appealing to her. Go figure!
I would bring the Sling to the Party but I have to pick up a windshield from mytoy so I need the truck. But make sure you check with WraithSS to see what model he is running. I think they may be 2" not 3"

Well, we'll see you in Murphy, so maybe a short turbo ride then....
What width are your harnesses?
-
I was hoping to get the harnesses before Murphy (or at least mine). I KNOW how @KayTwo drives and the "oh shit!" handle won't be enough.....
I'm sure your dad would love to spin around Murphy, if you're skeered....
