I'm not running the OEM boot. Mine is pretty compressed though and tight, but enough room to install it.
Dave@DDMWorks any issues with the oem boot on the 19's?

It’s always good to have your shaft in something tight...

Shouldn't be a problem, I can take a couple pictures I think will help in the morning though when I get back to the shop.
I am still running the original 2015 rubber boot with the DDM short shifter
thanks mine is compressed also but the bottom threads on the shifter knob meets the top of the shifter shaft and will not go down to put set screw in
do I need to remove the metal ring on top of the boot?
Got mine shifter in the other day but my knob want go all the way down to secure it, still using the original rubber boot, did yall remove the metal ring on top of boot?
I did remove the ring. My old shifter had a ring that threaded onto the knob - obvious that it wasn't needed here. DDM knob is flat bottomed, fits snug against the rubber boot, looks great.

thanks. I removed my boot and knob still will go all the way down, let me ask this question does the threads on the knob suppose
to line up with the indent on the shaft?
update:
just spoke with Dave@DDMWorks problem solved. So I was under the impression the threaded part on the knob should meet up with the indent on the shaft, not the case so that is were I was stuck at. Dave answered the phone on the first ring, he was in the middle of a turbo install ,and still took the time to answer my question just outstanding thank you.
Okay let me give you an update to the update, I feel stupid lol. So I went out the other morning and completely pulled everything back out and started over again. Now I read the instructions a few times on the first install before installing, don't know how I missed this step. Come to find out I forgot to put the shift knob shaft back on the short shifter. Guess in my mind when I thought of short shifter it meant shift knob to lol. so now everything fits great.
You definitely did not put that adapter back in on your installation, some people install it like that, others put the adapter back in, it works either way and is really just a personal preference.

Well, I love it, works great. Only thing I may do is take the short shifter back out and re-grease and twirl it a few thousand times to smooth things out

Once you have a longer one, you should never look back...
