Hmm, pain in the ass. So what do you do when crossing into a no state?
Nope. No way. Nuh-uh. Not me.
Verry funny EjFord !

Like Shadrac I study state by state and comply. I travel with a lockbox and change from loaded/concealed on person, loaded/open in vehicle, loaded in lockbox and unloaded in lockbox. Rule of thumb: don't fuck around in California.
Good advice. Never thought of lockbox.
My center console in my Jeep has a built in safe that I installed but the simple answer is I never leave Florida.

Unloaded in a lock box.
If you look at the map - and click on a 'no' state - then scroll down, it will give explicit details of what you can or cannot do.
If I am going to be in a no state for a period of time - I will not bring a firearm with me.
I want to be 100% compliant to the laws.
I might have other forms of protection on me as well
I have my guns on me everywhere I go!

I do not go to states that I am not legal
OR New York
I made a road trip to Tennessee and back last year to pick up a car, and drove through 17 different states. That was a challenge.
If you travel through St. Louis ready to fire is the best option

Thats what I'm concered about. In today's world you need to carry for self protection. My plan is to carry wether or not legal. Hope my ccp will help get me out of trouble if stopped. Probably not....

It may, but likely it will not. Short story: I was in South Dakota (which is open carry and concealed carry) on my motorcycle and my weapon was out while I was riding.
I got pulled over in Custer by a pretty nice cop. He informed me that I was in violation of.... I don't remember the statue... I said "Isn't South Dakota open carry, I checked and it says this state is open carry?" He informed me that I should have read more than the opening line as it is open carry, but not on motorcycles, ATV's, Snowmobiles..... He was pretty cool though.. He just said "Do you have a CCP?" , and I said Yes and he said just pull you shirt out....
So it may help you, depending on the LEO that may or may not pull you over.
Cali is a different story... Just had the holster on and it could partially be seen... Officer asked me to pull up my vest... no weapon just a holster... weapon is in my trunk in the small gun safe with ammo removed... again no problem... but CCP would not have helped.
I guess the moral of the story is to follow the law... at least in my opinion.
Riding with friends last summer, they suddenly turned north and we ended up in Minnesota. OOPS!!!! I pulled over, took the cover piece off behind the passenger side roll bar and put my little pocket carry in there. Still not legal, but the best I could come up with. The cover has only three (I think without going out into a cold garage) allen head screws. I carry a set in my tool bag.
Pretty sure Minnesota isn't reciprocal with any other state. Wisconsin is OK, but Illinois is sketchy, so I avoid riding there.
I just don't go where I'm not welcome. When we fly to Florida to visit family, I always feel like I'm missing something, so I had pepper spray sent to my son's house, and we carry that.
I'm open to suggestions and corrections.
I just concerned if I'm in a city and maje the wrong turn I want to be protected. This country is f'd up regarding ccp. If one state issues it, it should be legal to ccp in all states. Biden wants to bring everyone together. This would be a start. Lol

Here is a pretty good site... just click on your state and it will show you which states honor your states CCP.
I'm know which states have recipeicocity. My question is, how do you protect yourself if your weapon is locked away and inaccessible? Honestly, I'm going to carry in all states when I travel within their cities and not worry about repercussions. I don't want to be a victim.

It just may surprise you how many states you can carry in with your states CCP and other's with open carry. In 2017 I could carry in 35 states. The 2017 Travelers Guide was the last that I bought. I have not even checked since then.
I know whatever you do don’t even carry a BB gun thru New Jersey - they are absolutely insane !!!!
