I put some half-hearted thoughts into a new purchase. Now awaiting with enthusiasm, the release of a workable 2.5 in. cat exhaust system for use with the DDM supercharger. A decent HP up-tic keeping sound and fumes in check would put me firmly into the "keep" category for a few more years.
What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies....?

I know you ride alot ... how many miles on that great blue machine?

I ride often, but often not a lot of miles. Primary vehicle, most of my needs are within a handful of miles. 2017, just under 18K. Barely broken in.
-
^^^ In contrast I have a 2020 Road King (two years) with over 19K but I ride with a core group that I can count on showing up and riding. Typical ride is between 300 - 400 miles each. I like them both, actually prefer the slingshot.

Up in the air, no commitment yet. Have you reserved yet?

Just sitting here rereading the DDM brake caliper install again. Instructions are really good so I expect it to go smoothly. I'd be doing the install now but wife says "you have all winter when snow is on yhe ground". I said it's going to rain on Wednesday. That's when I start the install. Going to do the back first.
-
My rotors have almost 109k on them with no issues along with original pads. I guess if you have $$$$ burning in your pocket you'll find any excuse to put out the fire. Lol
Well I put out the fire. Bought DDM caliper upgrade front & rear. Now have to determine if I should replace the rotors.

Dave LOVES you...

Started the rear caliper install. All was going well until I discovered 2 emergency brake line clamps were missing. Dave@DDMWorks is sending asap. I spent an hour on the rear caliper and definitely could finish in under 2. I'm old and slow. I could have started the front install but my back said you have all winter!

I am looking forward to how you feel they stop over stock brakes...I am not concerned about looks ....
-
I'm more into the looks but the stock brakes are mushy and leave me wondering at times if I will stop in time. I've read on this forum where installing hawk pads will greatly improve oem stopping. If your not into looks, try those first.

I had the Hawks and Alpha. upgraded Rotors Front and Rear and was a little better but when I put those Big Brake Rotors and Calipers on
front wow I was feeling like I can stop this without the mushy feeling and more positive action...

I have never had the mushy brakes once I got all of the air out of the system

Don't know if mushy is the correct definition. Just felt like when I hit them hard they felt soft. But they have worked as intended for 110k. No need to upgrade unless you have some extra $$$$ burning a hole in your pocket.

I think after writng I would use the word more effort to stop with stock brakes and with the added HP
just wanted less effort in stopping the Slingshot...But I do feel more at ease with the Big Brake front Kit,,
They are Big and that Rotor...

I don't go fast enough to need brakes.
