Well, I guess its more of a non-mod than a mod, but after a week of running without the front fenders I have come to two conclusions. The first is that I like it without the parachutes I like the way it looks and the airflow just seems smoother. The second conclusion is that I don't think I am going to bother installing any trim strips to cover up the stock mounting holes. I actually dont think it looks bad with the exposed holes and more importantly I like the idea of the holes acting as a vent right next to the stock muffler - God knows these things can retain heat so having this extra ventilation has to be good thing. So anyway - this is todays non-mod, no cover strips needed or at this time wanted. - I like it just as it is
What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies....?

have you run in any wet weather like that? I would imagine the wheel spray would be pretty bad

I have not run in wet weather yet, and now that I am retired I will try to avoid it, but having said that there are many others here who have removed the fenders who swear it isn't a problem.
I am sure eventually I will find out for myself, as a side note if its raining I am going to be getting pretty wet anyway

All I can say is "To each his own"

All I can say is "To each his own"
isn't that the whole point of the Slingshot - - each one making it their own?

I bought some generics off of Amazon 3 yrs ago. Still going strong.

I don't remember which is the inners and outers. I note that they are much higher $ now than when I bought them 3 yrs ago.

Been using those too. Original set all but one is still working. Picked up a set of these for the middle ones we'll see how long they last. I did have to fiddle with dremel as they wouldn't just go right in like last set, might of got the QC guy/gal at the end of their shift.

Does anyone know of any better, longer lasting headlights than these?
Buying these each year or year and a half is annoying...
Thanks in advance!
Those do not last long. The center lights have not burned out after 2 seasons but the outer lights stop working about every other month. I bought some real cheapies on the Internet and they are lasting longer than the SM expensive ones. Can't find the order.

.....get you one of these , none of those bulbs LED or not provide enough light output , until you add one of these.......IMHO

I gotta say, light bars look awful in the sling. It just doesn't look aesthetically good regardless of where its mounted it looks tacky. However, from a lightningwise standpoint i dont see a better option. It's even worse with the newer model LEDs at night, they really threw the cheapest LEDs they could find on the 20-22 MYs in terms of actual illumination.

....I agree I didn't want to go that route but after spending $$$ or more like $$$$$$$$$$$ on LED bulbs ( about 3 or 4 different sets) I gave up and got my light bar and love it. .......excuse my shepards ass .......

I maybe wrong but lighting up that light bar except for off road will get you a ticket. Many states require them to be covered when on the roar. Correct me if I am wrong that could have been changed.

......that is true in certain states but the proliferation of em on vehicles make it a moot point ......I'll take the ticket as long as I can see at night especially on roads with no overhead light.....but that is true

MADDMOE do you find having the light bar in that position starves the radiator a little bit?
...not at all......but it's good at deflecting bugs from hitting the radiator....
