You are lucky I didn't drop dead on the side of the road the first time!
But poking fun at you is quickly becoming a sport....
Kyle D. Thank you for taking time to develop the pinion brace, I have ordered on and will install ASAP, I was also instructed by THEO, the Bully (see picture) to order him a pet bandanna and he says he will wear on cruise nights with pride.

Thanks for the continued support Jeff! It's greatly appreciated!
I received my brace today and thought I would write a short review on install and voice my opinion.
It took me about 45minutes to complete the install, that included getting the tools together and raising the rear of my SS, I recommend placing jack stands just to be safe.
First if you have not changed your angle drive oil, now is a good time to do it, drain the old out and don't refill till you are done.
If you don't drain the lube, you will get a tiny bit of seepage once the 6 bolts are taken out (don't be alarmed very little will leak out, just keep a paper towel handy to wipe it up,
I noticed there was anti-seize on the factory bolts, I applied a thin coating to the 6 new bolts and the 2 that clam shell the brace together.
Read the instructions and make sure that you do not tighten the 6 bolts more than a few turns, till you get everything in place and make sure everything will go together.
Now just tighten the 6 bolts to 19 ft lbs and than the clamshell (pinion support) till both halves meet with no gap, do this by alternating the tightening of the two bolts little by little.
Now if you drained the lube, install the drain fill with new fluid,
I took some time and also cleaned the area with cleaner and checked for any leaks or anything that looked strange.
I think this is a great addition to the angle drive, and gives you added protection and strength to it.
This was all accomplished with the HELP of THEO and he gives it 2 paws up, I call it cheap insurance.
.......awaiting some fluids to begin
Might install mine this weekend! CHGOSLINGSHOT thanks for the additional instructions.
Before and after. My first mod in quite awhile. Pretty straight forward.
Is this addressing a weakness in specific year/model angle drives, or is this problem just an overall drive train design issue that effects all years? I have a 2019.
Display MoreOne of the Slingshot's weakest points is the yoke on the case of the right angle drive. Whether your Slingshot is stock or highly modified, stress shocks to the right angle drive (often seen from burnouts, hole shots, or getting off and back on the gas abruptly, can cause the yoke and/or the right angle drive case to shatter. ZZPerformance recognized this issue and developed our right angle drive brace to help reinforce the weak spot in the right angle drive.
Made from laser cut steel and billet aluminum, it is machined and assembled in house. You can check it out here
I'm ordering one of these today. This is the first I've heard of the issue Kyle identified and I can't help but wonder what Polaris thinks about it and if anything has been done about it?
So - Kyle D - - is this brace something that you would recommend for people with totally stock NA power trains or is this only needed for boosted applications?
The angle drives breaking do not seem to discriminate between boosted or NA slingshots. There are plenty of people that had stock Slingshots who broke their angle drives. Its more about the shocking motion the yoke of the angle drive gets when you're off and back on the gas quickly or doing a burn out or leaving the line hard. From what I have seen most of them seem to crack/shatter in the same spot and it would be between 10 o clock and 12 o clock if you were looking at the the right angle drive from under the Slingshot where the drive shaft goes into the yoke of the angle drive.
Here is what it looks like from the rear tire looking towards the engine when one shatters.
I'm sold! A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks Kyle D . Next question; do you offer a price discount for retired military?
