THE REPAIR WAS DONE AT MAXIM CYCLE IN MERRIVILLE INDIANA WHERE HE PURCHASED THE SS. AND I JUST CONFIRMED WITH HIM THE COST AND THAT THAT WAS ALL THEY REPAIRED.

RECENTLY A FRIEND OF MINE HAD HIS ANGLE DRIVE START MAKING A LOUD HOWLING AND CRUNCHING NOISE. HE IMMEDIATELY DROPPED OFF THE SS AT DEALER. 2 WEEKS LATER DEALER CONTACTED HIM AND STATED THE GEARS IN HIS ANGLE DRIVE WERE SHEERED OFF AND THE FRONT BEARING WAS DAMAGED. AND THAT POLARIS WOULD COVER REPLACEMENT OF THE BEARING UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE GEARS WOULD NOT BE COVERED BECAUSE HE HAD THE GEAR OIL REPLACED (BY DEALER) WITH NON POLARIS BRAND OIL, AND BECAUSE HE HAD A ZZP PERFORMANCE PINION BRACE, REV TECH AIR RIDE AND LARGER THAN STOCK RIMS AND TIRES. THE REPAIR COST HIM 3700 AND CHANGE. I AM NOT AN ENGINEER BUT MY THOUGHTS ARE THIS IF THE FRONT BEARING GOES OUT THAT WOULD ALLOW THE ANGLE OF THE PINION GEAR TO BE ALTERED TO THAT OF THE RING GEAR THUS CAUSING AN INCORRECT BACK LASH AND WOULD RUIN THE GEARS? BUT POLARIS DOES NOT SEE IT THAT WAY THEY SAID IT WAS ALL CAUSED BY THE USE OF THE AFTERMARKET ITEMS AND NOT THE FAILURE OF THEIR BEARING. HE ALSO HAS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. PLEASE DO NOT THINK I AM KNOCKING ANYONE'S PRODUCTS WITH THIS POST I HAVE THE UP MOST FAITH IN THE AFTERMARKET COMPANIES THAT PRODUCE PRODUCTS FOR OUR SS I AM JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT IT WOULD SEEM POLARIS IS NOT BACKING THEIR PRODUCT.

So many great stories and memories here, I did not meet the man but feel he was a person of great character, whenever someone is lost in this world and there is such a connection to so many it hurts. GOD SPEED SIR and prayers to your family.

I have felt your pain and believe there is a place at the end of the rainbow bridge that we will be reunited with our 4 legged family, currently they have free range to run and play but one day 'CHUBBY" will stop the playing with his new family, his ears will stand up and he will remember the scent and your presence will be felt and he will run like never before to greet you, his tail will wag as he is reunited with you. till that day may friend may your memories of him be cherished and he live in your heart. THE DEALER REPLACED THE STOCK AMP AND THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I RECENTLY REMOVED THE STOCK AMP FROM MY SLING SHOT AND INSTALLED A NEW STEREO SYSTEM WITH A KICKER AMP, IF YOU NEED A NEW ONE I HAVE ONE I WILL SELL, IT TOOK THE DEALER OVER 5 WEEKS TO GET THE AMP FROM POLARIS.

As this pandemic continues to takes it hold on the world, I must say I am a proud American who values my Country and Family, Every Morning I return to this forum and I read new posts and see we are still sticking together, I think of you all as extended FAMILY, some of us have met and others only read each others post, yet we are all willing to help each other or just exchange words, Its amazing that we all share a common interest, Sling Shots, and because of that we have all bonded as a Family. I purchased both kicker

Kicker 11HS8 (HS8) HideAway 8" Subwoofer with Enclosure and Integrated Amplifier

and

Jensen JMPSW800 200 Watt Marine Powered Subwoofer

I tried both and like the Jensen much better than the kickers so I returned them. I have them behind the seats mounted just under the compartments. On passanger side I installed the kit that moves seat 2 inches forward but it allows the passanger seat to recline a bit so no real space lost.

I recently installed a Kicker AMP and a pair of powered subs along with the speaker pods with Rockford fosgate speakers. I had purchased a few plug in cords from sling tunes and was not having any success with getting the the Powered subs to work. After a call to Shawn, he explained a few things and recommended a BTDSP 46, I am not sure what it does but I reveived it and plug it in and everything works great, I just want to say Shawn was more than patient with me and he took every one of my calls even on Saturday evening. I just want to give credit and let everyone know of the positive experience I had with him.
