These aircraft Snapvents may do the trick and when closed are both air and water tight. Plus they allow some adjustment for direction and amount of air flow.
Anybody ever tried Seizmik Versa Vents?

I should have mentioned in my Post #3 above that from what I've heard, F4 Customs uses a modified Goldwing vent. I assume the differences in shield thickness may be the reason for a modded vent.
I don't mind, I'm just venting

Mine are in a f4+7 windshield and had no problem installing or using. I taped off the inside and out side of the windshield, cut one side part way the turned the windshield over and finished the cut. This was to avoid chip out, I also used a 3 inch hole saw (all I had) then turned a tapered wood cone on my lathe, glued sandpaper to the cone and sanded to size. Worked really good, no chip or scratches anywhere. Remember measure twice( maybe three times) cut once.

Thanks mate! Clear photos answer a lot of questions!

You could take a look at these Goldwing vents. They worked very well on my wing and I also installed one on my VN2000.

My only concern is installing one of these on a relatively flat windshield. I believe F4 Customs uses a modified Goldwing vent to handle thinner material and relatively flat windshield surface.
