I think the hardest part is not slipping and scratching the hood while grinding or cutting the opening and cutting the area underneath to allow the bottom piece to sit flat as it clamps the two halves together. Also after you get one side cut out make a template to position the other side mirrored over so they are both angled the same as to not have one positioned different from the other. I know it seems like common sense but sometimes we dont think of everything and that was one thing that i was worried about as it would make a great mod look like crap if it was not mirrored from side to side. Keep us updated on progress and if you find any tips or tricks to make it easier for others

Im guessing the longer screws are meant to screw into the plate that goes under the hood .....? I'm always force to make templates on jobs i do because I wind up doing the same jobs over for others, that's why I'm never afraid to mod.......mess up or not , I'll learn from it lol

M4x30mm stainless flathead socket head. I bought from the local Fastenal. I believe the US has fastenal stores but not sure if the part number would be the same. The part number is on the picture of the bag i shown

yes the screws that come with the latches are way to short. And if you do not use stainless you will end up with rusty screws like rab has experienced so might as well do it from the start.

Blue painter's tape might be useful for protecting the painted surfaces and to transfer template onto.
Leave it in place til all cuts and fit checks are done.

Canceled my Amazon order. $25 less on eBay.

depending on what you use to cut. I used a 1/4 burr designed to grind aluminum as i found the less agressive burrs would plug with melted plastic. I am quite sure there are other suitable tools but that is what i have here. So painters tape would laugh at these burrs if i slipped and just hide the damage while i cursed and swore through tears while removing the damaged tape to see just how bad it is. Lol i used a thicker cardboard taped to the hood to protect what i could and hoped i didnt slip. I did not use hole saws to do mine as i didnt think of it untill i was done but realized it would have made the job so much easier

Ok so I got my screws & Aerocatch in the mail but might have made a Boo Boo......as I have the Aerocatch 120-4100 which are too big I see....I still would like the key option if I can find a set smaller.... .the Aerocatch website doesn't display the size measurements WTF......
....I believe the 120-2100 is the same size as the one you have gooseman
I'm keeping the ones I have , they will go in the box marked " You FU " along with other items I order but wont send back lol

If would be so much easier if they would have sizes besides just the pin length......so I'm hoping this is the smaller version with the key lock

.....and you can see from my pics what I mean by to big or wide......oh and excuse the missing LED diode on that strip (I won't say where I bought em from , we all know where though 🤔)

cover the area with masking tape to prevent scratches...
