LOL, I live 10 mins from Carowinds... good times for sure!
*IMHO: Stay in Maggie! The Fury falls way short to the thrill of riding the mountain roads...
I just gotta go, this coaster has been on my list for years. I'm flying down on Saturday so that gives me three days before the organized rides start. Surely I can take one day... and get the lesser thrill out of the way
Ahhh but do you provide a lap bar and a barf bag??
Here's a first-person view from the ride I led last year down 276... you tell me if you need barf bucket and I'll buy one for ya!
Here is the Group Ride Schedule for SSITS 2019.

NO Lie - Erica ran us thru there last year - even manage to find a flooded road..
This girl can handle the wheel!
Still think a vendor run would be fun. We vendors just don't get the chance to do much with our Slings while we are there. We are there to support and help our fellow SlingShot owners but would be nice to block off an hour or two to relax after setting up and get ready for the work to come.

I liked the turn at 42sec.

LOL... let’s just skip over that part!

The rain was crazy last year no doubt!!
I’m going to run 276 again this year (been getting a lot of messages from out-of-town folks asking me to lead a group). I did a few group rides last year, but this year, I’m trying to keep it small (and FAST)!
That said, for any out-of-town peeps looking for a great ride ~> 276 (is by far) my favorite! There’s something for everyone. The North side is scenic, fast and twisty. The South side is very technical and will test your abilities (trust me, if you don’t have good tires/suspension... take the South side SLOW)!
Here’s some footage from the North side near the BRP (I highly recommend everyone run this while in Maggie).
When Erica says 'take care' -- LISTEN -- the roads in the Smokies are great & fun but for those not use to them can be hazardous to your health and Slingshot. Most important is have a GOOD time and get back to MV with rubber down and plastic in great shape.
This video is a little longer and takes 276 to the BRP... from there (for all you technical folks), pull on to the Pisgah Hwy and get TWISTED!

How long does it take to do the entire 276 run? Roughly.

Traffic / eating / sightseeing aside... 2-3hrs round trip
Some of the stops I like are the waterfalls, sliding rock, painted rock, and lunch somewhere in Brevard. Truly is a great day out!
Differently need to do this route with the wife. I signed up for the tail for Wednesday and waterfalls for Thursday so might try this Tuesday or Friday.

I watched the whole thing. So many twisties! We don't have anything like that up here, at least no where near me. That looks like fun... I'm sure there are going to be private organized rides in addition to the event ones....
Sounds like this week is going to be the vest vacation in years. Well, actually this is my first vacation in 6 years since I started taking care of my elderly parents who have both passed now. Dad is going to be riding shotgun with me
The 'planned rides' are great but if you can get with a small group...and there are lots of us doing small group rides --- more fun and less hassle. Just ask and you will be invited to join.

Will anyone be doing this route Tuesday or Friday that we can tag along with.

Are you a “spirited” or “non-spirited” rider?
I like to drive fast but the wife reminds me with a good oh punch in the arm when she is riding with me, so I guess I have to say I have to be both at times.
