I had a house on Long Island and a 3 legged squirrel lived in the yard. I think he lost part of his left front leg in a fight or doing something he shouldn't have been doing. Anyway Chuck (that was the name the kids gave him) learned quickly how to play on our sympathy. We fed him every day, he had a bowl nailed to the top of a fence post. By the time winter came he was so fat he couldn't walk along the fence without falling off. We turned an old doll house into Chucks place complete with a Barbie's Mustang in the driveway. It was funny as hell to see him stick his head out the window when you walked by. That damn squirrel had us all snookered.

Ok I guess it's my turn... I work in a maintenance shop at an appliance factory that's about 60 years old and it's pretty common to see rats running through the building especially on second shift when it's quiet. So an occasional squirrel is a welcomed sight. Well with all of the fork truck and tugger traffic I ended up with a three legged pet squirrel and yup you guessed it, I named it "Tripod". Well Tripod was a little slower than the rest of the squirrels and come to find out he was a she. So I watched Tripod as she raised atleast three litters of babies (easy target) and the babies always grew up and relocated to better "neighborhoods". But Tripod always stuck around for some reason. I guess she felt safe inside the factory garage since she couldn't run very fast. Regretfully she eventually got ran over by an 18 wheeler by the delivery dock. I was sad but I knew she was one lucky squirrel to have lasted as long as she did. So now every time I see a squirrel as I'm walking through the gate and toward the building I always think of her and wonder if I'm looking at one of her offspring. It makes me smile.

Worked for a big box store for some years and in those years we watched a squirrel wait for customers come thru the double doors run inside steal Reese Peanut butter bars run towards the exit door and wait for the next customer to exit and then run towards his buddys that where outside .....all they needed was a get away car.......the funniest dame thing you ever saw! Remember the candy vendor always complaining but we enjoyed the squirrel even more....
