Is my zerk facing backward? It faces the case, not the shaft. If it is backward and I have to turn the u-joint, will I be facing any problems. I remember a post that said they seat to a position and moving them didn't work.
u-joint zerk

I know this is an issue accessing the zerk, but I don't see how I can get to this one. Is mine a one-off or are they all this way?
A new u-joint is about $40. Should I start over? -
@Slingrazor, have you dealt with this before?
-
If it bothers you, you can buy the u-joint for the 2016 and newer models. That joint does not have a grease fitting to worry about
-
The only thing bothering me is I can't grease my existing one and it is my understanding you should reinstall them in the same configuration. I am leaning toward flipping it, greasing it and taking my chances. I should have some warning (thunking) if it is going out. Then I would install the newer style.
-
I hear what you're saying, but if you don't want to remove the joint and reinstall it in order to grease it, you can just remove the 4 bolts to the two straps and pull it out of the yoke. Holding the end bearing cups tight, you can grease it that way. then reinstall the joint. But that will get to be a PITA doing it every 5,000 miles or so

That is definitely a Friday build. Do you have a good dealer? Did you ever have it survived by a dealer? I would take it by a good dealer and shoe it to them. It was assembled incorrectly at the factory so they should fix it. That is what I would do first.
2nd, I would buy a new one and replace it so it is not a worry. -

Mine is a 2016-1/2 and it has the grease fitting from factory

Fun, kaytwo, gooseman, is this the same joint that rab has mentioned in a earlier thread that he takes out his rear cup holder to get his pin needle adapter to grease his fitting ...? If so that's the way I'm going to try and grease mine being a 2016 model, just wasn't sure if this was the same grease fitting that kansling was talking about....?
-
Yes. Same one
-
Good thanks fun,, I'm always wrong according to my wife,, glad I'm actually correct on something..

Join the club. I was told that there's two sides to every argument. You have the husband's side and you have the winners side. Cause if Mama ain't happy, might as well apologize so you can get some peace

Use the needle tip and grease thru the cup holder, it works great. Just add about a 4 inch pipe nipple to the gun and it makes it even easier.
