Is it a good idea to wrap the entire exhaust muffler and all, with wrap to help keep the cockpit cooler?
Muffler wrap

As a general thing, yeah. It reduces noises and heat (plus creates better flow from what others say)

What about the header, can it be wrapped also?
-
Header can be wrapped also. However, I would go with a true header for that, not the stock manifold. Iron holds heat, and restricts flow by the design of the stock manifold. I have the stock muffler, and the CAT. But I have a 1320 stainless header to smooth the flow. I don't get any strong fumes like most aftermarket mufflers. As for wrapping the header, hot rodders and bikers have been doing that nearly as long as I've been alive.

One thing to keep in mind if you wrap your entire exhaust system is corrosion will occur faster, especially if you live in a high humidity area. I've heard this mentioned on several other threads. Though I do not have a lot of experience on this personally as I do not reside in a high humidity area nor have I wrapped my exhaust system.
Please chime in if I'm out to lunch. -

A better way to go is to have the components ceramic coated? I had done that with stock muffler before I got the Alpha variable. The adverse warnings about wrapped pipes in high humidity is not really an issue. I live in a humid climate and have wrapped airplane exhausts, motorcycles, vehicles, etc for years with no adverse effects on stainless exhaust systems...Don't do it on old fashioned mild steel pipes.

Our entire exhaust system is stainless correct? Except for the stock manifold.

True dat ..... however many have wrapped steel exhausts running below their plastic floor pans .... could get interesting years down the road ....

why? Steel or stainless?

Is there a good better best wrap? Or is it all the same...I was thinking about black wrap.
-
So I did some research about wrap and there is a big difference...
So here goes...

The SS pipes are stainless...older cars used mild steel which was very subject to corrosion which is why there used to be a lot of muffler shops.
