The White House spokesperson said restarting the Keystone pipeline isn't the answer because it would take years to complete. Does she realize that it would be completed by now if they hadn't blocked it? Their answer is investing in "alternate energy". Won't that take years to get enough US production to be the answer too? Of course we can simply get what we need from China right?
I've heard Jen Psaki state many times there's over 9000 approved sites not being used by oil companies. Psaki stated why don't the oil companies just use those? I heard one of the oil companies CEO (can't recall which one) explain that they are unwilling to invest the large amounts of money to start-up because of this administrations aggressive stance against drilling for oil and dealing with future issues. It may or may not be true or a half truth.
What I would bet money on is if Trump was in charge he would immediately call a Meeting with these oil companies reinforce the situation and find a way. No doubt in my mind he would work with those companies to make things happen.
This administration constantly uses excuses, "there's nothing we can do" Inflation, transportation, border etc. there's nothing we can do. Trump would never except that!

It's one thing to hold the oil rights land lease, it's a whole 'nother thing (under the current administration) to get the Federal permits and environmental approvals to actually drill.

Haven't seen the media do any stories on gas prices and essential services. Police and fire department fuel budgets just got cut in half or more by the rise in prices. Just one more way to defund the police without calling for defunding.

Yep, they'll have to. The question is how much of a punch can the middle class take till they have no choice and must pull back on spending. The small business person that operates on a smaller volume with a slim profit margin is in danger.

The way I understand it the gas tax is a percentage of the sale. No wonder Washington and local governments are hesitant to help. Getting your pay doubled almost overnight is a wonderful thing.

inflation is going up across the board and it going to go up faster and further across the board because of what's happening to fuel costs - - - there is not one single product sold that does not involve the need for fuel in its manufacture and / or delivery
In 2020 this country made an historic shift - for the first time in a very long time we became a net exporter of oil actually producing more than we use. Unfortunately the policies of the current administration have changed that, once again we are back to having to import oil from other countries to meet our needs - - Of course this was done so that the administration could appear to be more environmentally friendly, but if we are still using the same amount of oil that appearance is clearly an illusion. - - the only thing that changed is that the dirty nasty carbon oil we are still using has to be bought from other countries and that puts us and the price we pay at the pump at the mercy of other countries
Knee jerk reactions made by the administration in an attempt to garner support and votes - - its standard operating procedure of all of our politicians and it is almost never what's actually best for the country as a whole

We no longer have a political system that actually works for the greater good to do what's best for everyone - instead we have a bunch of self serving elitists who's entire focus is on what one dramatic thing they need to do at the moment to increase their power and control and they dont give a shit of what the result of that is after they have gotten what they want.
