So we ordered a bunch of stuff from Slingmods the other day - accessory fuse box, Canadians, halos, etc, and we picked up the headlight bypass switch. Went to install it today, and the "plug'n'play" fuses that come pre-wired into the harness are so loose in the fuse clips that just the weight of the harness wiggles them out. Completely unsafe, just asking for arcing and sparking. I can't replace with OEM fuses, because there are extra connections soldered in, so I'm wondering...is there any other way to make that connection more solid and safe, or do I just need to return this kit and figure out how to wire a bypass solution myself?

bought the by pass. all i had was trouble. sling mods 0 help. will not buy from them again. after being at dealer and they were replacing the whole electrical wiring harness for problems with add ons, and talking to electrical connections since there stuff for the goldwing work perfectly they said they were not making one. and was not a good idea.

Let's pile on....went the same route with their bypass switch and could not get the wire bent at a 45 degree angle and out the newly drilled hole in the fuse box cover while keeping the fuse prongs on the harness wire plugged in.
I have intentions of pulling the wires out from under the fuse block and connect directly to the wiring harness - ala the approach demonstrated by slingshot only.
Def not 5 star

No, which is disappointing, because I have several other things from Slingmods which I love. But hey, Babe Ruth never batted 1.000. Nobody's perfect.

One question I have..... do yall have the headlight recall performed on your SS?? I believe it adds another circuit to seperates the side headlight from the center headlights.

I have the 2016.5 LE, and as far as I am aware, those were taken care of from the factory. I will check the fuse box when I get home.

Take a picture of the underside of the fuse box cover and one of the fusebox and post it

I have a 2016.5 - Yes - there are two fuses in the box that control lights - one for the two inner lights and one fuse for the four outside lights (added Canadian lights).
The headlight bypass wiring harness comes with two separate wires for connection in the fuse box.
Basically, the connection in the fuse box is simply to power the wiring harness and switch for the dash.

Okay, I have many open spots in my fuse box. . .
I'll take jokes along with any serious comments out there. . . I'm serious about not having fuses in some areas.

@MiM
With yours being an original base model, do you know if the headlights recall was accomplished? Before the recall I was running 6 headlights and kept burning out relays. I installed the slingshotonly wire harness that put the centers on their own circuit and enabled me to turn the off with a switch. The recall harness Polaris came out with is close to the same without the ability to turn off the centers. If your is not done I would consider the slingshotonly one because it gives you the switch.
