It goes back to the other thread with the derriere @funinthesun shared. . .
And that just means mission accomplished . . .
Tonight the cat in the hat is going to teach us .... righty tighty lefty loosy
Starting soon ! Sitting on the throne to gather thoughts . . .
WHAT??????? come on man!!!! You own this
Starting soon ! Sitting on the throne to gather thoughts . . .
Holy crap!
I'm hitting the bolt with a hammer and while I can't be sure, I feel the whole thing is moving in the direction I'm hitting. . . Like it's becoming more compacted . . . Crap guys!
Your column nut is on flush with the threads?
You still have space behind the nut for it to come toward you?
Are you 'tapping' the center puller bolt?
Did you use a lot of lube?
That puller should be doing the job!
Make sure the puller center bolt is not threading into the column nut!
OK.... If it were me (disclaimer here) I would take a heat gun and get the aluminum hub good and hot while that puller had pressure.
Clock spring is at the rear of hub and plastic but the hub should expand before clock spring is damaged.
Or....... Well....... I would learn to love an Assault Hub!
Okay, I'm guessing it's the latter . . . I might have to just keep this hub forever!
It's so tight, I'm even having to turn the wheels all the way to the right for leverage. . . And I'm using a long bar for leverage . . . Thinking something is going to bust!
I even took off the lock nut completely ! I've tried with it on, loose, and now just off!
Even flipped the puller for better leverage and shorter fasteners!
Ross, my apologies if your puller doesn't return in the same condition!
I know most are fast asleep . . . But this is over. . . I've lost. . .
Wheel bent (from my first go around) and now Ross' puller is a bit broken. . .
I used so much force, the nut welded on the back, snapped on one side. . .
So @slingmods, if you could, please send @Ross the Assault wheel puller. . .
And if you don't mind, I'll take another Assault wheel if you have one. . . But I can wait for everything to come with my other order. . . Eventually . . .
But though I've lost this battle, I feel a war has been won. . . This one thread brought many of us together. . . And I truly appreciate all the support you guys pushed along the way. . . This hub may have taken my Slingshot . . . But it will never take. . . OUR FREEDOM ! ! !
THE END. . .
As the fish said as he swam into the wall - DAM!!
I have an assault hub on mine, tonight I am going to see if mine has become one with the spline shaft or not. I will attempt to remove it to see if I have a similar issue.
Body shop or similar may have an impact puller....the type with a long bar and slide weight. If you hit it with heat and popped with one of those would likely come. That said, if you can live it it.....
I noticed some rust, maybe rust ed d to splines. Has me nervous as I live on water in fl. May pull mine and put some grease on.......
Damn. I thought for sure that would work.
