Early on, they had a lot of issues (was discussed on the Dark Side before the birth of this forum). Don't know if these issues have been resolved or not...

Yeah, I should have done 30 seconds' more searching, I found the thread, although the search feature didn't pull it up. So now I'm one of *those* guys...another redundant useless thread. Sorry, @rabtech. You can delete.
Actually, it would be nice to hear from someone who's purchased one more recently & get their input...

I'll let it stay for a while. Let's see if anybody comments.

So, the original question was, "Anyone have any recent experience with the Ultimate Trailer?" Or something like that.
-
I am an original poster (from the other side) that had major issues with the enclosed trailer (I ended up returning it). For the record, I have no RECENT experience, I certainly hope they got their act together. That being said, and from experience, I would be shy at this juncture to buy ANY trailer that used a compressor that raises/lowers the trailer bed. There are just too many parts that can potentially fail. And good luck if you get stuck on the road with a bed that won't go up or down. I shudder the thought.
I recently purchased, but as of yet not in possession, an open trailer made by slingthing (slingthingtrailers.com). They make an enclosed model also. I will have it first week in Sept., and will be happy to demo it at the SS rally in the Adirondacks. -
Hahahaha, well, maybe I shouldn'thave deleted my original post, then. I was trying to erase the evidence of my idiocy, but @Tripod was too fast for me.
Yea, Tripod's girlfriends usually say the same thing about him.

I probably have one of the first trailers produced - a real lemon. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't recommend the onboard compressor and air bags - too much to go wrong no matter when the trailer was made. I had to replace both (which Ultimate Trailer did supply). My latest experience with them was in May when I had to take the trailer to Denver to have the specially designed axle replaced. Seems the original wasn't strong enough (or tested). My latet husband used to say, 'the more bells and whistles, the more things to break.'
-
That is why I like my quikload trailer that the axles slide back and forth. Just pull two pins and back up and the trailer lowers.

We like it too, rab....all except the list price. I guess I will if I have to, but I wish I was as good and lucky as you are for finding shit at pennies on the dollar.

2500 of the best dollars spent!
-
Just keep searching Craigslist. And ebay.
-
Mine was listed on Craigslist and Ebay. I won the Ebay listing which was $500 less than the Craigslist listing but when I went to pick it up the guy still charged me the $500 higher price. Oh well I still feel the trailer is still well worth what I paid for it being a 2014 with all the bells and whistles.
-
The Sloan is a very versatile trailer.
-
Looks like it already paid for itself
-
I sold my 2008 v nose enclosed 7x16 the other day for 2500.00. I just never used it except to haul Christmas decorations from storage to the house.
-
Nothing like hauling it long distance in comfort, right Kenny?
