Dude. Maine. MAINE. That shit don't grow north of the Mason-Dixon. I am not responsible for the regional gastronomic tendencies in the locales where the Navy decides to send me. And, I am not required by the UCMJ to conform, either. Now, you want to talk about lobster, blue crab, biscuits and gravy, crawfish, gumbo, or any of those other cultural delicacies I have assimilated, I'm all for it. But in this case, you're as wrong as 3 fat boys in a hot tub. Know how I know that? @sideseatdriver 's father is from New Orleans, and even he don't eat that shit.
Lobster, blue crab, biscuits and gravy, crawfish, gumbo, etc. - I love all of that too. (By the way, real gumbo has guess what in it? You got it - okra). If you were to take a poll, I bet you would be amazed at the amount of people who love okra.
BTW, this is my 10,000th post on this forum...
