Got bored again and took my steering wheel off and added some carbon fiber looking adhesive backed plastic. Came out pretty good if I do say so myself.

It was cooler than that in my garage but I when I turn the lights on my "jet" heater fires up and warms the garage in a matter of minutes. My garage is about 100 yds from my house and the heater is the only way to warm it up in there. They don't cost very much... pretty handy in my opinion.

The blue carbon is something I don't see very often, looks like it matches well to the other blue also

If it starts to deteriorate, I can always remove it with a little heat...

With no adhesive I'm thinking it might not stay adhered in high humidity/wet conditions. If it's easy to apply and cheap enough who cares?

Oh, it has adhesive but being a thin product it will come back off pretty easily.

You just have to make sure you rub down with some alcohol & some adhesive primer (3m) on whatever parts your working with, let it dry and apply.........youll be surprised by how long it will last but remember we are working on a outdoor vehicle.......everything i do with this vehicle i keep that in mind........ now if this wrap was costly (100 or more) i might not have invested since i know my slingshot is an OUTDOOR vehicle .......but at about $10 and change , ill take that chance anyday for it to look better than that black plastic strip sticking out like a sore thumb.....

Thank You guys, I appreciated the tips and info on this! Wife added some tonight to bling out my $24 steering wheel! It turned out OK, I really like it on that trim center piece though!

Most of the rest of us our jealous cause your 'wife' is helping you with the Slingshot.

She's a keeper for sure. Will be 20 years this August and she's spending a week with me in Deadwood, SD with the slingshot for the 3 wheeler rally for our anniversary. She's as excited about that trip as I am and same goes with working on the sling as long as it's this creative type stuff or a mod she asked for. Or she'll drink beer and hand me tools if garage is warm!
She calls me up from basement (pulling that lever on the blue machine, bullets aren't going to make themselves) to tell me it's done. I mess with those bolts and try lining it all back up again with the hub that is swiss cheese of holes but only 6 work. I'm explaining it to her as you have to tighten down evenly after all in, yadda yadda. Well I couldn't get it even with her helping me... told her I'm going downstairs to take a few sips of the bourbon and come back as I'm ready to throw this cheap ass wheel through the wall. She calls down in literally like 4 min - I got it.... I was like even with horn wires? I think so was her reply...
So needless to say after we snapped back in, had to do the horn test... she was excited is all I can say as she got something to work that I was ready to break lol. -
