May not be the same one MADDMOE referenced but this one shows good closeups on how the tool functions...
-
Full disclosure on the tool - several reports of tool breakage and/or not lasting. YMMV...
This video shows how this guy’s tool broke:

Im going to be honest with you, the time it took me to get those clamps off and back on, on my wife toyota sienna (upper & lower water hoses and transmission hoses) if this would have worked for just that job, it is worth the $$$$........i was breaking my knuckles, using pliers & all sorts of other tools .......im getting one , in fact from amazon cant wait til this deep freeze ends
-
The only thing I would add is, when removing the stock spring style hose clamps, this tool will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I bought 1 for $12. Broke first time I used it. Lessen is. You get what you pay for. Went back to pliers.

Our new tech here bought a pair on Amazon also, not the same ones I did, his also broke in the first couple uses. He returned them and bought the ones I linked and has had no problems with them.

.....some have thinner cables inside , where as the one Dave@DDMWorks showed us is thicker, thus may last longer........
-
I heard that Dave@DDMWorks has a thick cable...

Hey for 6.99 a 4 extended warranty through amazon might be worth it on this item then........

Im awaiting my acceptance to this secret section lol
Me too.

Anybody ever try to use one of these to drain or refill the cooling system? I'm thinking about getting one to see if it'll make it easier to drain the system and refill when I change out my hoses. If anyone has any experience using one of these please chime in.

Interesting, have a link/description? I have a radiator flush on a jeep liberty diesel coming up as soon as it's warmer and looking for ideas to make it easier!
Edit - think I found it - https://www.amazon.com/OEMTOOL…flush%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-12

I changed mine when I installed ddm supercharger. Don't waist your money. Just pour the antifreeze straight from the container into the hose off the engine. No funnel needed.

Thanks, I'm going to do it that way and use Sam Owens procedure for getting the air out of the system.

I did that as well, that said when refilling I did have some air in there. Squeezing that top hose off radiator and watching sight glass on coolant tank I got it all out. Was more about wanting to make sure I had it "flowing" through turbo before it was really ran. I like the idea of this system getting rid of that air under vacuum, seems just to work on refill though.

yep I watched his video also and bled the system like he showed.
