To all those who served in the early wars, here's something to reminisce about on Veterans day tomorrow.
-
Not nearly as sexy as those gun bunnies...but the pup and I didn't forget how to hunt after taking the last two seasons off. Got three roosters today and would of had a chukar but I was slow on that 1st bird. After that miss I remembered how to lead them and the CZ shotgun did the rest!
-
I miss hunting those in Iowa.

Man, I remember those days when I was young... What a great dinner that will be...

When I was a kid in central Pennsylvania, I would see lots of pheasants in the corn fields. Beautiful birds. In NJ not so much. NJ just isn't suited for hunting or freshwater fishing. Wish I was back in Central PA. Or just about any other state for that matter. Wife is still working here.

Frank you could be like me in a constant STATE of confusion.

Seeing a pheasant in Iowa these days is akin to spotting a unicorn. Removal of fence rows, small clumps of trees and old farm buildings to enable the planting of more corn and soybeans has brought their numbers down. Deer, on the other hand are PLENTIFUL. If you can drive 20 miles without seeing at least one that has been hit, you've had a nice night. Coming home from Charles City last week, we saw two dead ones and two live ones in a 20 mile stretch. Makes you drive with four eyes WIDE OPEN. (The wife keeps a lookout, also.)

That sad Iowa was such a great state to grow up in.

Sorry, but I think that job has already been taken by Joe Biden.

Seems impractical - you could get shot a dozen times trying to reload once
-
Guess now a revolver can make the 10 round band. That thing must weigh a ton fully loaded.

I wonder (I know it is a very old weapon) if they would make a fast reloader for it....
-
Cool concept, but they have better for that these days! Double barrel .45acp for example. I played with one of these at a demo, kinda cool but heavy...
-
Bummer...............
We got away from half naked chicks with guns.

The grip on that double barrel 1911 45 is just to wide. You best have a long trigger finger.
