Neat idea but might take too long to get in if you’re having to stave off a home invasion - I like my piece in reaching distance at all times. If somebody gets shot - I ain’t gonna be the only one

If you have guns for self defense, you should have more than a few that are not locked up. That is like having the hand gun in one place and the ammo in another and both locked up. "WHAT THE H---"

Picked up my new sight pushing tool from Amazon.
Installed new HIVIZ front sights on my SR9.
Was cheaper than the gunsmith and now I can do this myself.
-
I like that!

Nice sight pusher. I have two different ones the second one was made by a tool and die maker on the S&W forum and highly recommend there. I don't like either of them.

I'm intrigued... I have a few pistols with 3 dot sights and I perform better with a blacked out rear.

I do not even use the sights on a handgun.

Sooooo what do your groupings look like gunslinger?

7 yards back in the day 1 1/2 inch Remember that I was shooting 600 to 700 rounds 7 days a week 365 days a year. Even now the first mag will be around 7 inches and will get to around 3 inch group as I shoot the next 2 mags. With the Ruger MK. III at 5 yards just as fast as I could pull the trigger was a one inch group back in the day

Dang if I can't keep them in side a 1" circle at 7 yards I would sell the gun. Try 25 yards and the 50 yards and a Bullseye range.

I never found the need to shoot a handgun past 25 yards. My group very rarely shot past 25 yards. Besides that , what is the legal distance for shooting in self defence in your state?

It ain't fitty yards, LOL
Unless the perp is actively shooting at you or pointing a gun at you.
But at my house, at fitty yards, you would still be on my property.
And that gives a little extra leeway.

Only if the perp is shooting at you!

The best defense possible whether it be 5 yards or fifty — if you can demonstrate you were reasonably in fear for your life. That still works in most (??) states - which should be all 50 !!
