Why? Because I knew better than to take my SS when I left the house.
Caught in rain. Mad doesn't even begin to describe how I feel.

Huh. Proper tires for rain (Goodyear eagle f1s for me), proper windshield (Madstad dual for me), proper attitude (I fear only snow), and rain is no problem. @Cameron Roberts shared an excellent tip - one eye watches ahead, the other eye looks down to the left for the center line paint to make sure you stay on asphalt. Works very well.
I have a spendy rain suit that has never been used. Too busy giggling like an idiot. I love slinging in the rain. I am free.
-
I feel ya. I hate the rain. I hate the clean up most of all.
-
Looks like you need to find a gas station. Pull under the overhang AND get some gas. Looks like you are running on fumes....no good with a turbo. You will run it lean.
-
I had a 1/2 tank!
-
Been caught only once myself so far and agree the SS is no more ideal than an MC although I do think its a bit safer on three wheels rather than two. I found it much easier to clean up the SS vs my last bike with chrome on top of its chrome.
-
The only thing that got wet on me was my left foot.
-
One minute of rain equals 3 hours of detailing
-
That is exactly the problem. I HATE cleaning this thing. There are spots all over it now. And the back end is just black with road film.
-
There are drive thru car washes you know. Lol
I'm driving in the rain Saturday to go to @Andy Hatch place for a wrench day.
@ethermion. You going?
-
Really? I have not washed my sling since taking possession. Hit it with a leaf blower once or twice, but never a hose. I have wiped down the passenger seat for my lovely wife if she is coming along.
Time spent washing and polishing is time that should have been spent riding.
In my Harley days, I got a lot of flack for having a tired looking ride. My story that it was a working bike, not a show bike got some traction when I started to explain where I had been and what I had done. I ride.

Hey Rab you can get it presentable pretty quickly if you buy "the absorber." Hose it down and wipe. That's what I do between washings. It's a fifteen minute fix for that mess. Road mud looks tragic on that white.

What? Ride? Rain? Wrench day? How is it that I always miss the memos?
Yes, I am in. I will call you in a bit. Need to speak with you regarding dealer run too.
-
Oh..never mind. I just noticed that is your break failure warning light that is on. Not your low fuel light.
-
just be happy..like this....>>

I can empathize as I don't so much mind driving in the rain as much as cleaning it afterwards. It's amazing how much road dirt seems to get in every nook and cranny and it takes twice as long for a good cleaning as a normal vehicle. Even just normal weather driving seems to get it dirty. Got a black Harley that only seems to need cleaning about 1/10th as much.
-
I can't even fathom how much work it must be to detail a white sling!
You have my sympathyIf there is rain in the forecast I take the dually!
-
I wouldn't put much stock in the forecast till the day before you leave. And even then I would only believe it when I saw a cloud
-
Looks like YOU don't clean it anyway...
