asking 282K, not the open concept we wanted but I really like the 30x48 garage. Close to town yet not in town. I guess we could build the garage if we saw something else we liked

2.9 acres looks like just the shop!
I wish, the shop is only 30x48 but big enough for me
Really nice layout.
My biggest regret when I bought my cabin was not having the room for a large shop. But the privacy and the view makes up for it. If I end up moving there I will find some land in the valley and build a big shop.

I have to agree with the view, we've looked at a few with great views, but you have to drive a mile or 2 on a dirt road,.. I hate dirt roads!

OH Boy you would hate this place 2 miles up to the top of mountain last 3/4 mile is all gravel with 2 spots that are 12 degree grades. But when I get there I can't see or hear anyone. I love the solitude - not a big fan of neighbors and like to keep to myself.
Shatneyman so jealous! Such a beautiful part of the country!
Best part if GA location..... Close to this guy!
Need I say more....

Shop has to be within walking distance or it is no good to really enjoy

Not if it is big enough.... besides less chance the wife will get in the car and drive to the shop if she can't walk there

Brenda just calls on the phone and is only about 50 steps from the back door to the play room

I don't know property values out there but that property, in SW Washington would be in the $400k -$500k range, possibly more in certain areas. Maybe I should be looking east for retirement...

Here in Vt, that property would be around the same $300k but the taxes would be about $5-6k each year. If you live where you have a view, taxes would be double that!
Granted, I live at the edge of town, not in the country. I also live in east central Indiana. My property is about a acre, house is bigger (ranch style, custom build) that the one pictured and I have a full basement. I have a two car attached garage, and a 1 1/4 detached garage along with a 10 x 12 shed. Property around here is very cheap compared to most areas. My house is probably worth around $130,000, give or take.... including the recently remodeled main bath and kitchen remodeled 2 years ago. Taxes are just under a grand each year.
