I spoke to Guard Dawg, and you can not use the ignition key as a backup on their system out of the box. However, they can add a "T" harness for $25 so that you can if you order through them.
He suggested instead, just get another remote and take put it in manual mode and hide it. Makes sense.
Good to know there are options.

What's the range on the RFID? Hopefully only a few feet so I'm not sitting in the restaurant as someone hops in and starts it up while the FOB is in my pocket
-
My understanding is within 30ft it activates.
Also. When Painter and I installed we found that the supplied ignition cover does not work.
I will give cycle springs and guard dawg a call

@SlingRider - you need to remove the ignition assembly from the steering unit in order to plug the hole. Cover won't go over the key assembly unless it is removed.
-
There is nothing in the instructions about removing the ignition assembly.

@Orangeman that is the instructions I followed. They say nothing about removing the ignition switch
-
Here is a picture of mine without the key/ignition assembly with the plug.

Yup...my point exactly ...... the instruction are flawed .....

I like the location of your accessory switch
-
@ Slingrider - thanks, works great for me. Easy to locate, I just feel for the nipple. Can I say that? lol
-
@TEXAS SLING RIDER you can say that, but you have to be ready for others to comment.
