I have already put the dash back together and refuse to take it off again. I have the slingshade and I had to completely remove it in order to get the dash off. serious pain in the ass. so whatever mounting system I use now, will have to be one that I can mount through the face and what little bit I can reach from the engine compartment lol.
Radio cuts out

I've ordered the first batch, right know the delivery time is 3 to 4 weeks. I'll talk to my CNC guy and ask him to do better, but no promises.

I am attempting to put in a temporary type replacement until yours comes in. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to do this without making holes in the dash and still look somewhat presentable lol. I'm already balding. I might be completely bald after this one lol.

There is no easy way IMO

I just purchase this GPS to integrate with my SONY headset unit and replace my GARMIN ZUMO 660 to free up some space.

yeah there isn't lol. it seems at least that I can make a couple of temporary holes that will be covered by the faceplate that you make. your mounting holes will be on the top and bottom and will cover the holes I make with my bracket system. And wont interfere with your system when it comes in. at least that is the thought process for now lol.

another question for the sony xav-ax100 users, where did you hook up your mic for the phone? where did you hide the cord? I put the mic up on the roof of the slingshade, made sense to me, but still trying to figure out how to hide the cord for it. I ran it out the front of the dash and through the engine compartment and in the back side to the radio cubby. I am just trying to figure out how I am going to hide the cord as it is running down the corner of the slingshade top.

I mounted my mic on the plastic panel that clips on the dash by the speedo. Wire is under that and coiled in next to the radio. People won't be able to hear you well anyway because of all the noise. I touch "Decline" on the screen for most calls and just use the mic to let people know to hang on till I can get pulled over safely when it is someone I want to talk to.

here is the temp fix I did for my radio. working on getting the mic set permanent but otherwise at least I am back out on the road again.
-
This is where my MIC is montet.

I hope it gets warmer over the holiday so I can install the nav system.

I changed the design (Simplified) for the double din (Sony XAV-AX100) mount with the integrated water resistant faceplate, It should bring the price a little down.

does anyone know where I can get some of the button filler tabs for the dash? I have to make an adapter for the USB for the radio and am currently using lexan to somehow fabricate something. talk about doing things I never thought I would find myself trying to make lol.
-
always love a cheaper price. the $180 was a bit to chew on lol. But I will do what I have to in order to protect my investment. I am not about to lose a 350 dollar radio over some rain or anything.

Are you looking for something like this? Don't you have an USB port in your glove box?

Amazon has the kits of different sizes if that is what you need. I have got to where when I need things like this or bolts and screws I just order the kits. If I had done this to begin with I would have saved myself a lot of money by not going to ACE Hardware
