Google maps says its 22 miles and 26 minutes away. There is a Metro station very close to your hotel though, and there is a stop in Reston, so you may be able to make that work too. It is a bit of a hike from the metro to the Restonhotel though...

Crystal city is close to metro. Could metro to restin the uber over from there. Uber all the way is option of course. Taxi would likely be expensive

Btw, that is awesome. My Dad who was a WWII vet had the opportunity to participate less than a year before he passed away. He never stopped talking about it.

Second the metro, but also a metro pass allows use of the buses in the same system. Look up the DC Metro website, they have some good maps.
Thank you for your service, sir. Have a great trip.

I was a 2171...electro optical ordnance repairer...I worked on the sights for the Howitzers. Semper Fi brother!
In addition to the Howitzers, I repaired all the sights/electronics on the M1A1 tank, NVGs, and TOW missile systems....just thought I should add that.

@Zeeboo which day are you looking to sneak over there? If at all possible, I will pick you up and take you!!
This is why I love this family, people helping people just because they want too.

This isn't a shameless plug but I know American Airlines has participated with this in the past and the local Miami Dade police dept make it a big deal (as I think it is) they escort the busses into the airport and give the veterans a very warm welcome before getting on the airplane. Makes me proud to be an American when I see something like this.
