the wall won't immediately secure the border, but it is a start and we do have to start someplace don't we?
if not with a wall, where would you have us start - seriously what steps would you take that would be a better start?

But, you would still have to increase the man power on the border patrol to be able to get to these places and when they run short of money guess what get's cut "MANPOWER". In a perfect world it might would work WOLF. Also, you still have to enforce the laws that we have.
It’s not a matter of catching them, we catch and release like fish.
They are also voting in Cali and changing the outcome of legal voting.
They need to understand our constitution and abide by it and learn English and use it.

Okay - I can live with this as a start, but isnt that a bit like what they are trying to do with the wall they are trying to fund - to build it in places where it can divert the illegal border traffic to where it is easier to stop them?
Also do you think the left would give Trump his funding if he said it would go to the needed satellites and boots on the ground?
I personally think the left would be against any approach that could be seen by people as a Trump victory - - am I wrong?

I agree, but still say they would cut the funding as soon as they thought they could get away with it
FunCycle it would probably cut the number of boots on the ground. Instead of blindly patrolling thousands of miles you have a few teams scattered around the border with helicopters that go to the precise area that was crossed. Ground penetrating radar and topography sensors would make it all but impossible to get past.

the biggest red herring is when any politician says they want to stop illegal immigration - Neither the left or the right are really serious about this both sides believe that continued illegal immigration benefits them and as such talk about ending it is just a bunch of BS intended to placate voters
If they really wanted to stop it they could do so at very little to no cost by simply enforcing the employment laws already on the books.
