Looking for reviews on the Twisted Dynamics shorter side panels. Especially if you have their top. Thanks.

I didn't think Twist was selling these side panels any longer. They are not up on their website now. I will say they had a great price point on them and their paint match was horrible. I don't have a top at all so can't speak for that.
I have their top and their shorter side panels and I like them a LOT!
Makes it much easier getting in and out!
The paint match was not that bad. No one has ever noticed.

Did you get yours directly from Twist?
Sorry, just saw this question. No, I bought mine from Cyclesprings (Noel) @ Eureka Springs, MO.
We have both the soft top and shorter side panels. Love them a lot as the shorter panels make it much easier getting in & out. Got top from Twisted and panels from cyclesprings when they were first on the market.
Agree with kyslingshot on paint match. You really can't hardly tell there's a difference.
The removal/install and fit was horrible! I would not recommend them! Especially at the price!

post up some pictures if you have them. I was looking at these as my next purchase. If they don't line up or bolt into place then I may have to skip those.
I've got an early 2015 SL. The front tab bracket had to be cut or bent down. I didn't want to cut it so I bent it. Another bracket had to be unbolted. The driver side had shipping damage. Horrible experience! Pictures to follow.

Wait for Maggie Valley and Twist will install the panels for you.
It seems to me that removing the two noted brackets would remove a lot of the supporting area for the side wings. So all you have left is two fiberglass panels with a couple of bolts, does not seem like a lot of strength. @Rando, @Carbon_One, @kyslingshot care to comment?
following closely......

The brackets had to be removed for the new panels to fit. I'll admit that it's secure. The new panels use 3 of the original bolts and then comes with 6 additional. It's solid especially since it's fiberglass and not plastic.

I put my side panels on sometime early in 2015. After removing the two brackets I think I bent that front support up & under the panels. My mind is a bit foggy on this since it's been a while. I could take one off to verify if requested.
Regardless there's never been any kind of a problem since day one of the install.

Thank you for your response. I am please to hear how sturdy the panels are when installed. I always have concerns when support mechanisms are removed and question the integrity of an installation. I actually have not heard of anyone complain of the integrity of these panels and now that they have been installed for a period of time such as @Carbon_One, it seems to confirm the strength of this product. I hope others will use this thread to expand more on the short wing panels.
I certainly will follow up after my own installation.
