Anybody have taken a mirror apart or have a drivers mirror they'd part with? I've got a loose drivers mirror. The mounting screws inside the mirror seen to have backed out just enough for the mirror to rattle. Looking at it I can't see how one would tighten the screws. If I could pop off the mirror at the socket then probably could tighten them.

I slipped an inspection mirror behind the glass part and from what I can tell there's a screw in the center of the pivot. Which makes me think the glass is probably glued on after the plastic bits are assembled.
At $100 for a mirror I'll check with my dealer to see if warranty covers it. -
@Carbon_One I purchased the slingshotonly convex mirrors and didn't want to stick it over the old glass so i heated it with heat cun and used a 1-1/2 metal putty knife and removed the glass and is perfect. it can be done with patience i attached pics the glass is just 2 side foam tape. If you want to get together i can give you a hand with it

That's awesome info Jay. I'll check on heating it up with my heat gun tomorrow. Glad to hear the glass is held in place with double stick tape instead of glue. How do you like those convex mirrors?

@Carbon_One take your time.... @jaycanter suggestion will work but you have to be very patient and take your time. It's very easy to crack and break the mirror head. Just to be clear is it the mirror head that is vibrating or is it the full housing?

as @Ruptured Duck says take your time i missed pics and just uploaded you can see some foam still on it i started at the small outside part to get started then worked around wiggling from side to side. Doing that left some tape on the plastic. The new mirror does take some getting used to.

Thanks guys. The 2nd pic Jay posted shows 2 of 3 screws that are loose on my Sling. Hope to get too it later today.

I have the exact same issue with both mirrors. My dealer ordered 2 new ones under warranty repair.

Success. It took longer to get the double stick tape off than heating & prying the mirror glass off. I'll finish tomorrow after getting some 3M body tape to reattach the mirror glass.
Man I tell ya when it comes to anything Slingshot this forum is the place to go to.

Update:
After purchasing the 3M tape & adhesive promoter I finished up this afternoon. Had to go to a paint supply store for the adhesive promoter. It did seem to make a stronger bond using it thou. I'll order some online for future projects.
Total cost was well under a $10 bill so the repair was well worth the trouble fixing it, especially with y'all's helpful info.
Thanks, Larry -
@Carbon_One Glad you got it the 8 oz container i have had for 1-1/2 and still works great about 15.00 on amazon the others are 1 time use per package. comes in handy with the slingshot since everything is plastic. even with the lights under my hood they don't come loose with the heat
