But there are rca line level jacks available?
You mean from the stock head unit. No.And all the amp does is reduce the high level inputs. It's basically has a built in converter. So there is no need to buy one. Just use the high level inputs.
-
How many watts per channel does the oem head unit put out
-
Probably not more than 10 or 15. I can't say for sure.

OK, I just pulled my radio. At the speakers, the color is not the same as it is behind the radio, on either side. My B port has 5 wires and none of them match the speakers. Any thoughts on this?
-
I would like to keep my speaker converter behind the radio and make the connection there, guess I'll have to cut close to the speakers and run up to the converter
-
-
-
Oh now I got it - NOT!
-
That is what I have at the speakers, but port B has green, yellow, tan, black, and brown with white strip
-
I'm digging through the manual now...

Ok @Shatneyman I think I found the "issue". The display that has 4 ports with 2 connectors going into it, is not actually the radio, it is just the interface for the radio. The radio is attached to a bracket that sits slightly behind the interface unit.
So 6 is the Interface Unit and 3 is the actual radio. The connector on top of that (between the 3 and 2 in the picture above) is where you want to tap off your speaker wires if you want to do it up in the dash versus down in closer to the speakers. On that connector is where the speaker wire colors in my prior posts will come in.

Thank you, I think I found it but need to tear my dash apart to get to it. Getting late and I have a long busy weekend. No way I could tackle this alone.

Excellent pictures and description. I'm try to upgrade too.Have speakers but not the amp yet. I want to put the amp behind the radio too. So I believe those get cut behind the radio and then into the amp. Can you use the same wires hooked to the amp back to the speakers
Since that's where they go? -
OK, I have an issue with my audio, Amp hooked up, got power, the speakers won't work. I've tried switching + and - wires,.. nothing. With the volume all the way up, I can hear it, but very low, Why???? anyone?
-
Shanty man, hard to diagnose over the net, the fact you can hear it likely means power and remote work. A few thing to look at 1. Rca cables bad, it does happen 2.does amp have setting for input (there are 3V, much lower was the old norm, and speaker). Could be set on 3V and your box is putting lower preamp and 3) gain, make sure it is not way down. The amp likely has a gain, and if using a converter, it might. Finally could be a bad amp or converter..

Should have mentioned, not likely polarity. That sets speaker phase not really volume. Out of phase degrades sound quality though....
