Is there seriously $7.00 difference? And can someone prove one is better than the other.
One is 29.99 and the other is 36.99. Yep,,, another oil question...

I can't offer anything into this one, but it also doesn't make sense the way they price the same item. The one on the right is $22.88 here at Walmart, but buy them by the quart and they want $7.99 each. Last time I checked, $7.99 X 5 quarts is almost $40.00 vs the $28.88 by buying the 5 quart jug. Maybe the marketing experts thought they were gallon jugs and not 5 quart jugs

I pay $22.88 in Sacramento........... (Pick up in store)
-
These are two completely different items.... One is ADVANCED FULL SYNTHETIC and the other is FULL SYNTHETIC.... What makes it advanced... Why is it 7.00 more...
One is Mobil and one is Mobil 1...
-
-
so is the Mobile 1 less?... never had an issue so I would go with Mobile 1 for that big of a difference. Would have to be some really good voodoo for me to cough up the extra $7
Edit: now see the price so forget what I just said... still would pick the Mobile 1 anyway so I'm a little useless to you
-
Excuse me,.... one is SUPER FULL SYNTHETIC and the other is ADVANCED FULL SYNTHETIC..
-
AND @NatomasSlingshot1is correct . The 36.99 jug is 22.88 at our Walmart... Its a conspiracy ......
-
-
I guess my point was to ask people if they ever look at the SUPER or ADVANCED logo on the oil container.... And do people really care...
Yes,,, I got the 36.00 oil.... I'm a lemming.... and i cant help myself... I just wanted to know if anyone else just buys the expensive oil and never really stops to ask. IS IT BETTER...
-
i guess it's never failed me so I don't even bother looking at other types. I do check the cost. Walmart has for the most part been the best price.
It's odd how our minds work. Remember as a kid my dad hating Quakerstate because he said it trashed a motor. Have to this day never uses Quakerstate... go figure.
-
I only buy the Mobil 1 but not sure if ther is a diff. Looked at that a couple weeks ago and went ahead with the M1. Also, I get 10% off the $22.88 price.
Gotta love that life time discount. -
Bomgaars says "While both provide full synthetic protection, Mobil 1 outperforms Mobil Super™ Synthetic motor oil. Mobil 1 is also the world’s leading synthetic motor oil brand."
-
I use the "original" Mobil one. May be that the "newer" one is replacing the older one hence the blow out prices. i bought three jugs of it last week to have on hand since the miles get put on faster than you think when the great riding weather is here. I might have to stock up on rear tires as well since one lasts about as long as an oil change does,

The price difference is completely related to the cost of the container plus about 12% additional profit margin on the quart vs the five court.

I use both. Whichever I get the best price on. I think all the ratings thru API for our engines are identical for both. The Mobile1 touts NASCAR use .
It apears that the additional API ratings for the Mobile1 are generally race engines. The price bounces on the two in my area . -
Not a fan of paying anymore than I have to for something that gets changed before its ever really worn out anyway.

I always buy the ludicrously synthetic...
