I'm hoping to put more miles on the Sling since the weather if favorable and I can do my own maintenance.
What does everyone use?

.....did someone say dashcam lol.....just installed this about 2 months ago....love it and how it records with the front & rear camera, love how it records while parked if you have the hard wire kit hooked up to it ( which I do ) so if someone bumps it or messes with it , it will record BOTH cameras......every so often it might freeze up but there's a reset button on the rear that takes care of that.....worth the $$$$.......my only real issue is mounting it.....they are all made to be mounted on an existing rear view mirror which I didn't have , so I had to be creative in mounting mines and plan on making a better bracket in the winter.....
I use the RevDynamics version. It is just an Amazon-available Acumen dash cam / rear view mirror, but RD includes a Ram Mount with a mirror mount. I've had it for 3+ yrs and the only problem was the powercord going out on it when caught in rain (I kept the camera in the glovebox during the rain).

Not water proof?

[/quote]No, not waterproof. I haven't found one that is.

I use a go pro mounted to a rear view mirror. I use this mount and to ram mouns on this post for it. https://www.slingmods.com/pola…wiring-port?search=mirror
I don't believe this is available anymore, but any style like this that has good reviews will work. clips on to the existing mirror.
I own one of these GoPro cameras.
Still in the box.
Anyway, there is a wicked cool dash cam video on the old forum a guy posted early on like 15' or 16' I think.
Dude hits a deer with his Slingshot.
Wicked hard to see where that deer came from.
Like out of nowhere!
Maybe someone can find it and post it here!

I really like your setup, but concerned about water resistance...

Yes, I could not find any of these "Rear View/Dash Cam" set ups that were waterproof. I usually put the mirror portion in the glove box when it rains (It's just held to the mount with some silicone bands). The rear camera that mounts in the stock rear camera location (or close to) is waterproof.
I did have to replace the power cable. It has a voltage reducer PCB in it that must have gotten wet and fried even though it was inside the dash. Admittedly, that was a pretty bad rain storm.
Again, these are are generic dash cam/rear view mirrors available everywhere. I went with Rev Dynamics because they include the Ram Mount mounting system with a rear view mirror-like mount.
Here’s mine, but I will have to get the specifics for you later I call it my death cam!☠️
....so i had to trash the dash cam that I had and replaced it with the WolfBox G840S and they sell a bracket that fits on the back that took care of the mounting issue for me
