Where are you located? What year is your Slingshot?

Howdy and welcome to the forum. Not knowing the year, I'm guessing that it's a new 2020 or 2021 with the Prostar engine and automatic transmission. First of all, I wouldn't worry about this "failure" causing damage to the engine. It probably won't. You probably have a major electrical issue (by the way it "rebooted" itself) as well as the vehicle speed sensor showing 3- MPH while the Slingshot is running and stationary. Have you been able to retrieve what codes are there? Since it did show the check engine light on, you should be able to see what code(s) are shown. It COULD be either a harness that is not fully connected or even a bad ECU. Before I'd try driving that far to the dealer, I'd give them a call to see if Polaris will cover the towing charges in full as this is a dangerous condition if you have to drive at highway speeds and get rear ended when it loses all power. Good luck and keep us updated on what they find

Not seeing this as a 2020 or up...
Definitely a system reboot happening.
Vehicle running because switch on and alternator sustaining operation.
Noticing rain, but, for how long?
Looks like a grounding fault.
Could be a failure of specific part.
Do the simplistic checks first.
Suggest battery post connection checks, positive and negative.
Battery to frame ground check. Engine to frame ground check.
If nothing definitive found, ECU wiring connector checks.

Am I the only one that noticed the rpm was stuck at 800 rpm the whole time.

...and 30 mph.
Right up until system reboot.
Freeze screen but no BSOD.

Glad I wasn't the only one.
