Freakin' 109 on the way back from the dealership- (warranty work- new radio). Miserable ride, but I'll take it any day over the hurricanes and floods ya'll have. Stay safe! (or figure out how to mod water-wings for the slings)

Rockport got hit really bad. A lot of destruction and 1 fatality. The major damage looks like it was caused by tornados. Stay safe Dana. Looks like the heavy rains are headed your way.

Rockport was hit with sustained winds of 130mph...
Our whole area is getting tapped by tornadoes...
The storms are rolling in again...trust if this weather tries to do anything hanky, my dogs will let me know...

We live about 40 miles north of Houston off I45. Been raining off and on all day. I've pumped several inches of water out of my pool twice today. Hopefully, that will keep until tomorrow morning.
Not really worried about flooding here. We bought in 2009 and the local bridge flooded the weekend we closed, but the Harris County flood control people widened the local creek and it hasn't flooded since. Our house is down the street from the bridge and is probably 5-8 feet above the top of the bridge. According to FEMA flood maps, we aren't even in a 500 year flood zone. Also, the local water company has a pumping station on our side of the street a couple houses away and we're on the priority list for power restoration. Neighbors across the street told me the last time there was a major power outage, our side of the street had power after a day or two while they had to wait 2 weeks before they got power back!
One of my Daughter's friends got flooded out Memorial Day 2015. Her landlord immediately got a crew removing drywall, etc and getting the place fixed. She was able to move back in just over 1 month later, but it flooded again a couple days later. She's since moved to a different spot, but her kids get nervous during heavy rain storms. At least their new location is not known to have ever flooded according to FEMA. Harris County also maintains a flood info website that displays the water level data from flood sensors in the area and it helps knowing how things are going nearby.I just realized I've posted similar stories in at least 2 similar threads. Sorry, it's sometimes hard to remember what I posted where.

Summer is coming to an end in New Hampshire. Been in the 50s-70s range.

We got hit by remnants of the hurricane late yesterday. We had about 4 inches of rain in less than an hour and a few funnel clouds formed in the area.
@tigershark - Late Summer into Fall was one of my favorite seasons in New England. Enjoy.

I am ready to go back to ES rally for some of that cooler weather that @dangerdarrell and his lovely wife ordered for us in Texas. It is 97 now and it is October. Tired of it. HOT and Hotter.
