is our radiator Supposed to have a certain operating pressure? what is it?
Factory cap is 15psi
-
So, did Dave pop a hose or radiator?
Neither. I just put the turbo on the Slingshot on Wednesday the day before we left and after the drive out there the first night the coolant system burped and so I added a bunch to make sure there was plenty in the tank. During the burnout the temp got really hot and coolant came out the overflow, engine and cooling system is fine

What tire did Dave have on. Think with all that traction and still had tread, think that is the tire to get.
JUST SAYIN
This is what I had on the back - https://highway-max-coloured-smoke-us.myshopify.com/
I did go drive it a little bit before the burnout/doughnut and it was very unstable at just 30mph, fun for burnouts but not something good for driving. That tire took a lot of abuse thought, pretty impressed with it.

Very wise words. Thank you. Spent my Turbo money on a motorcycle. If all goes well maybe Dave@DDMWorks will buy the motorcycle after this is all over and I will get my Turbo? I actually hope to take good care of motorcycle and sell it when done.
I would love to do a trade, but I already have a SV650 that I haven't rode in over a year sitting in storage. Ivy is great, but pretty sure if I bought another vehicle at this point, I might have to sleep at the shop

Hey guys, I sold my sling as is for 10k 😭. The buyer may want to remove the turbo. Will he need to install the stock map sensor or will the 2 bar work? Reason I ask is because I had to cut out the original harness and splice in a pig tail...I don't have the original nor do I remember how to rewire it.
Depends on if he gets the ECM reflashed or not. If the ECM still has the tune for the 2 bar MAP sensor, he needs to leave the 2 bar MAP in place. If everything is removed and switched back to the 1 bar MAP sensor, then the ECM needs to be re-programmed for the stock setup.

Not any better or worse to take on and off in my opinion. I just wanted a better look. I am happy with it. No issues hitting or rubbing anything, clearance is good.
Thanks for doing the leg work on this, we get a couple people a year asking for a cap for these tanks with the smaller openings and it's great to have an option we can suggest now, thank you for sharing and helping out!

Dang Dave, that's one low roof. Can you even see much through that small grill opening of a windshield?
That is the sacrifices you have to make for better aero sometimes.
-
Did you pull the wrap off of it?
Changed the oil and cleaned the air filter today, on 3 vehicles, one was the slingshot though, it was the easiest, other than that K&N in front of the turbo is a bit tricky to get out, good thing it flexes a bit
Yeap, wrap came off a couple months ago, the fluorescent yellow starts to get a little dull over time, plus after a couple years, time for a change

Been super busy with moving everything, getting all the orders out (thanks for all of those, you all are awesome!), installs, etc. Have some time today though to get back to our Slingshot, as we are getting it loaded up to head to Houston on Wednesday, just a couple things to do,
This is seriously what it looked like walking in this morning, going to be a long weekend I think -

I inquired today as to what parts were on back order. Part on back order is the cam sensors. Even though the cam sensors were put on already from a donor 2019 and already proven not to be the issue. This is where I will really find out what type of company Polaris is. I have found two other instances where this has happened. Ruptured Duck and MWSlingshot both had this problem. Both had to have a wiring harness. Two weeks down and I am in exactly the same spot I was in when it started. I hope nobody ever has this problem. I will post weekly and hope nobody else had this problem. I will definitely post final result regardless of the outcome, good or bad.
If they are having a hard time through Polaris, Advance has the ACDelco ones - https://shop.advanceautoparts.…P?searchTerm=cam%20sensor
You can buy them direct from GM dealers also - https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/…-position-sensor-12674704

Not wanting to step on Dave's toes, but you have a couple of choices. This tool is what you need to make the job easy. You can buy a cheap one at Harbor freight for about $20, or check one of auto parts stores that have a tool loaner program. If you're unable to find either, here's an oldie but trick way to do the job. Find yourself a dowel that is the correct size (or even a couple of mm smaller.) Then try packing the hole in the bushing with grease. Carefully press the dowel inside the hole and hammer it which fores the grease to hydraulically force the old bushing out. Hope this helps until Dave sees your posts and corrects me
Appreciate the assist, not stepping on my toes at all

That's awesome Dave, now I see why you are putting off the other dev work, got a shiny new toy
How bad was the ECU in decoding it? Have you analyzed the tune yet, room for improvement or did they already have it optimized?
Yes
I'll have some more info after the weekend and stuff I can share with you out at the Slingexperience also.

It's now pretty

We are officially the first company that has gotten into the new 2020's ECM's and are reading and writing them! Need a little clean up work to the adapter harness, but definitely works

Got an email, this is cancelled due to lack of registrants.
I still plan to come up, but not sure when, have to look at my trip to MV and schedule, so it may be a week or two later. Br4hm4 I'll let you know when I do, would love to go for a ride.
Bummer, I heard the rides up there were pretty cool.

Since our Slings have the same drive train as the Solstice I looked up a throw out bearing for an 07 solstice. There were two listed so I'm assuming one for the N/A sol and one for the turbo sol. Does anyone know for sure which one our sling takes? Common sense would indicate that since our slings are N/A they would use the one for the N/A sol but sometimes common sense and slings don't go together.
The slave cylinder is the same as the Solstice/Sky with the 2.4L, the other part number is for the 2.0L turbo which has a shorter slave cylinder since the stack height of the clutch is taller. The GM part number is - 24249818

Is this the right Fluidamper for the Slingshot?
Fluidampr Ecotec Dual Pulley Crank Damper - 650111
The 650111 has the pulley on it for the power steering used on the cars with the power steering pump, we use 650101 which does not have the power steering pump pulley on it.
Since you are on Ebay already - https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-C…78f2ea:g:MXsAAOSwfsJc-nY1

So I am looking to get a Damper Balancer. I have known about Fluidampr which has been around forever and I also came across ATI Super Damper. Who makes the best damper and why?
We have been using the Fluidampr on some of our really high horsepower stuff. It almost gets into a "Supercharger vs. Turbo" type debate between which one is better.
