In a few weeks I'm driving the Slingshot thru Chicago to Milwaukee, is there a "good" time to take I-294 around the city? I lived there 20 yrs ago and thought traffic was bad 24/7 then, I can only imagine what it's like now. TIA
Directions around Chicago

6 hours and no responses...probably because there IS no good time to drive around Chicago. The few times I had driven up to Oshkosh in camper we got stuck in Chicago every time both ways regardless of what time we hit (even way early AM)

Best route I've ever found for Chicago is to circumnavigate it by about 200 miles in any direction.

This is the only vehicle I am even gonna get close to Chicago in from what I read

Around noon if you're going north and after 10 Am if you're going southbound

If you got time get on 80 west towards Iowa then take 355 north takes you way around city. But is quicker there are tolls though so you might want to get a ipass. But I'd say between 12 and 4 would be decent unless its the weekend or Friday.

After 10 am and be out of Chicago before 3 pm. Where are you headed. in Wisconsin and when?

Thanks for all the replies. I'll shoot for noonish and hope for the best. Headed to Milwaukee in a couple of weeks.

There are a few of us on the way. If you need anything or want to meet for a pit stop and have lunch let us know. I live right on the boarder of Indiana/ Illinois 30 miles from Chicago.

Thanks I appreciate that.
