I recieved this in the mail today, from the Wisconsin DMV and thought I would share.
Interested how this compares to you in other states. In Indiana they are called 'autocycle' by the DMV but title reads MC, plated MC, registration MC. The 'autocycle' in Indiana means no MC endorsement needed.
Illinois has a 'autocycle' plate. Follow what your state says for most things but check other states where you ride as far as helmets, etc.....

Like gun laws, every state is different...

My guess is that the $45 autocycle registration is higher than the motorcycle fee making it a $$$ issue for the state.
Is that right Shadrac or is it the same or lower than the MC fee?
Correct - the motorcycle fee is $23 biannual.

Correct - the motorcycle fee is $23 biannual.
Is that twice a year or every two years? I never could keep that straight.

Motorcycles pay $23 every 2 years.

Indiana 2016 Slingshot....I have a 'vanity' plate and pay an extra $45.00, $41.35 registration, and Tax $163.00...Total $249.35. The tax goes down a little as the unit ages. SUV's and other autos registration $36.35 + taxes (varies). Taxes are based on the price of the new vechiel and go down as unit ages.

Yup, money grab. They make it auto cycle, for convenience, then setup different cost structure. Note you get new plate WITH new expiration date. That's why they are issuing new plate number.
