Purloined from the Palace of Performance is this classified shot. Don't tell Bill we leaked it!

Super-Secret Skunk Works exhaust "leak"!

If the exhaust tips were cut to the shape of the fender I would love that.
-
Bill here. Man I got to keep those cameraphones out of the development shop

Currently, they are cut parallel to the centerline of the machine, slightly backswept...but as you see more, you'll see why
-
Moving up a bit now.
Don't mind the rough cut opening in the body panel, we'll clean that up with a nice trim plate -
Is there a new header to complement it? Just askin’ from a distance.

Stay tuned as we bring the rest of it into focus

Now we see inside the body panel. This view begins to show the essentials of the design. As this is a prototype model, it does have a variety of joints used for fine-tuning that of course will not be evident on the final product, which will boast one-piece mandrel bent tubes with no welds inline.
-
A bit further up, we can see the pipes now heading to their respective cylinders.
-
Equal length straight pipes?

It's starting to look like that, isn't it?

well - - - - - ?

The suspense is over. What we have here is a model of our soon-to-be released Top Fuel exhaust system for Slingshot!
-
Here's a shot from initial development that shows the entire system at once. We'd yet to fully trim and position the outlet at this stage, so it looks a bit different than the previous pics. The system has amazing visual presence!
-
Also an early development shot, this one is of the system out of the machine.
-
got any sound clips? - - -
-
The style we've honored here is the classic "zoomie" pipe configuration on drag cars, particularly those that run in Top Fuel - hence the name.
What will it sound like? Like nothing else you've ever heard on a Slingshot, and that's not just an ad tagline...that's the absolute truth. Four discrete pipes of this nature develop a sound completely different than the conventional 4 into 1. The note will be distinctive and different.
Will it be loud? Only if one wishes it to be. Each system will include four removable, adaptable baffles. The baffles can be configured in a variety of formats that offer more or less sound control as per one's personal preference. -

We will soon. This is hot off the presses, and we expect to have some sound to show you very shortly.

As you can now see...it is its own header
