Good news for Polaris. Good news for Indian. Bad news for Slingshot.

But the tariffs were supposed to help America be more competitive on a global market....

KInd of looks like demand for higher cost motorcycles is down. Me thinks that Polaris is pushing higher cost Slings at the expense of sales volume.

Could this help keep used prices a bit higher then?

Not really they were designed to force China negotiate. They were designed to put pressure on the Chinese economy which has been working.
My business is heavily impacted by tariffs and we feel the pain but the Chinese definitely do manipulate both currency and production costs.
For example - it is less expensive to buy many Chinese products here in the US than in China. The entire thing is crazy and it needs to be fixed somehow. I am not sure

I agree that it needs fixing...but that can't happen until everyone plays by the same rules. Look at what Harley got away with. They were able to get out of the 31% import tariff by having the EU giving them access legally to import to the US via Europe. So now they only pay 6%
