I am looking for a fully restored fridge from the 50's for my office. I have looked in all the normal places. Craigslist, ebay, facebook, and so on. I am looking for one in great shape that has already been done and someone has kinda got their use out of it. Color and theme is not important. I'll take a look and see if I can make it work. Or if you know someone that restores them that you can put me in contact with. That would be great. Thanks for reading my post and thanks in advance for any help or advice. I am in no rush. I will be redoing office floor in early March but for the right one I'd get it now and store it till then.

Try this place, Antique Store, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 843 971 5073 I use to go in this place all the time and there was no telling what you would find there. They always had a lot of everything from old homes, furniture and appliances.

one of the best fridges I ever encountered was an old 1950's fridge that my friend's parents kept in the garage for beer - damn thing ran on natural gas - beer was always cold as hell and it even kept working when the power went out - - Heck before that I didnt even know there were such things as gas powered refrigerators I guess they still make them now for people who dont have electricity or want to live off the grid. Anyway, if you have a gas supply you might want to see if you can get a vintage gas fridge - having cold beer when the power goes out can be really nice

RV fridges also run on LP gas - they work pretty well

If you can't find a restored fridge, there are still companies that make new ones that look vintage. And probably in a better price range with better technology. Google "Retro Refrigerator". Here's a few I found:

Thanks so much for this info. I never thought to look at new ones. I think this is my best bet for a long term solution.
