part of the recall, there are similar marks in other spots as well.
Thanks. Good to know that Polaris is actually trying to make sure the nuts don't loosen. I marked my single nut so I can easily determine if it starts shifting.

Oh well. I keep hoping Polaris will get its act together, but they persist in living down to expectations!
Thankfully there are members on here that are better than that I've seen some pretty outside the box type stuff lol.

In most cases you are just benefiting from what we learned when we screwed up!
You will have your turn - we all do!
@MiM
I have one of these problem is it is made to lock the single nut.
I am hoping we can open it up on lathe and just use it as a cover
Fab Factory is basically the same

They were working a device to help the hood closing properly so all the latches latched properly. But their marketing department didn't think they'd sell too many of them under the name of SHUT UP

At the same time, they were also working on a device to quiet the annoying bearing whine. Aborted that project also, for similar reasons. They didn't think they'd sell too many of them, under the name of....

I was able to come across one of these online, so I'm going to be switching out my ddm nut cover for this one. What is the fix to get this to fit if we have the double nut? Do we remove one of the nuts?
I am not sure if you can use just one of the double nuts I assume they are different thicknesses - But if yo can locate the original single nut I can confirm it works.
Wish I could help more. You local dealer may know the difference.

I wouldn't run only one of the double nuts - strength and safety. I would have this machined out a little to accomodate the double nut setup.
