These are the same tiedowns I used for my enclosed trailer. They worked perfectly with the solid floor construction. Would we get the same securing strength from slates? If these are recessed-mount, a portion of the slates have to be removed (bored out) to make the tiedown eye flush.

I have to go by Leonard's today, anyway. I will just take a closer look at the setup, to make sure we won't compromise the securing factor of our Slings by removing material to fasten the securing points.

@V-SHOT You really are not drilling completely thru the wood except for the bolt holes. they have a metal plate that goes under the trailer for added support. The plates are rated at 6,000 pounds each and the straps are also rated at 6,000 pound each.
Take a look today and let me know what you think.

Took a look at the specs sheet. Now I have a warm fuzzy. -

Just finished the paperwork for my trailer. It will be here on the morning of the 8th of November. @av8ingtom and I will have to do some mods on the tie down portion of the trailer before it will be ready for the Florida trip for one of the trailers. You can rest assured, the both of us will be on here giving an unbiased opinion and review of the trailer.

@'V-SHOT
When are you leaving for Florida? We may have to pull a late night wrenching session to get your trailer ready--
Looking at getting an early start on the 10th. If we get in a pinch, I can just double up on the tie downs to the side slots, as well as to the front and back. 2X4's screwed to the deck in front and back of the tires add another degree of securing the Sling from moving around, as well.

Man.........fever.....fever......fever!!!

We will have you ready to go for sure no later than the evening of the 9th. If the trailer arrives on the 8th like they said, I see not reason why we cannot have your trailer ready that evening. I already have the tools ready to go. I am still trying to find some nice aluminum wheel chocks that we can mount to the trailer floor. if we mount the chocks, then you will have the Sling positioned on the trailer the same way every time you load it.

We're leaving midday on the 10th. Make your plans, I'll try to make it work. I really want to see this.

Went on the DMV website and reserved a personalized license plate for the new trailer.
4DA SLNG
@V-SHOT. All the tire straps and tie down plates should be here Tuesday."4DA SLNG" I like that!!!!!!!!

I got what seem to be indestructible rubber chocks from Harbor Freight. You could use a small ratchet strap to snug them on both sides of a tire in lieu on a permanent install.
-
Thanks @Andy Hatch I will look at Harbor Freight tonight.

So I found a trailer today for rent. 7' wide flat bed with two ramps, and I have ramps here at the house for the third wheel. No tiedown points in the deck, so I'll have to get creative, but I think we can do it. Best part is, should only run me $120 for 5 days. Score!
