Some of those components include - T6-6061 aluminum spring seats and lock collars, Italian IP F.A. damper oil, High quality Japanese SAE9254 Coil Springs and high strength steel seamless shock bodies. The spring rates for the kit were chosen based on our experience in record setting land speed racing, numerous Slingshot track days and overall unmatched knowledge of the Slingshot suspension to ensure you a great ride and improved handling.

Adjustments are easily accessible with a single knob that has 32 levels of damping. Ride height of the coilovers is changed by adjusting the length of the shock with a simple turn while installed. This adjustable shock body length allows the ride height to be changed without messing with the spring preload, keeping the shock in its optimal stroke range.

You can also customize your coilovers with a couple options. Springs are available in many durable powdercoat colors to create a custom look for your ride. Sspring bearings, which go between the spring and the shock body and allow the spring to rotate easily on the shock body when being compressed are also available. With the spring bearing installed, the spring can rotate easier and give a more consistent response, along with also making spring preload adjustments easier.

All coilovers are shipped to you fully assembled and ready to install on your Slingshot along with full color instructions. These coilovers are made overseas and come with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Our unmatched tech support and customer service is also here to help you before, during and after the sale with any questions you may have along the way.

  • I apologize for sounding a little snarky here, but it sure would have been nice that shocks such as these had been offered seven years ago and I wouldn't have purchased second hand! :P

Very true, definitely don't blame you for being a little snarky, we talked about this on the podcast the other day. We were one of the first vendors for the Slingshot back in the day when it was introduced and remember when all turbo kits were over $5000, intakes were over $500 and there were limited options for anything. The pricing on a lot of those products has come down now as the platform has matured and there is a bigger customer base. Things like our Stage 1 turbo kit is now under $3k, our intake that outperforms all those old intakes is 30% less, etc. Since we are selling so much more product now, we keep being able to lower pricing on some of those options and even have some more stuff coming out to help with that more. Another thing to help with pricing on these coilovers is that we ventured overseas for these, something we have not done in the past, but it does allow a lower price than the other coilovers we have made here in the states.

  • It appears that you adjust the single locking nut at the bottom for height, and do not use the double lock nuts on the spring? Our QA1's are 250# springs on the front and 350# spring on the rear and we would be looking more for the Cadillac type ride, would these be appropriate?

The adjustment for ride height is a little different on these coilovers compared to the QA1's. On the QA1's you adjust the spring perch to change the ride height, on these coilovers you use the spring perch to set where you are in the shock stroke (compression travel vs. rebound travel) and then loosen the bottom lock collar to adjust the shock body length for ride height. On the fronts, changing the shock body length is pretty easy, on the back, the lock collar sits up into the hole a little bit, which makes it a little bit of a challenge. Fortunately it is not something that you typically change a bunch and the setups we are shipping are set to stock ride height out of the box.

As for ride comfort compared to the QA1's, definitely a different ride because of the Monotube shocks on this setup compared to the twin tubes on the QA1's. All of the Slingshots we have installed these on have a sporty ride, not harsh, but I would not say Cadillac ride. Our 3 way adjustable coilovers are still our absolute favorite for a super comfy ride that can be made sporty. We also installed a set on a 2020 Slingshot today to verify fitment on those also, came out perfect :)

Here is a pic showing the rear installed to give you an idea of how the lock collar for the shock body length sits up into the hole a little bit.
