Bought NRG lug nuts on Slingmods.com and when they arrived I notice the side of the box says, "NRG products are designed for off road use only". Called them about it and they said they hadn't noticed it before. Anyone else notice this or has it been discussed before?

Cant imagine that a lug nut would be different for off road use than it would be for street use. If anything I would think off road use would be more demanding.
I would suspect that they just put that warning on all of the products they make because its easier and cheeper

Same warnings on their steering wheels and hub adapters. Probably has to do with legal issues relating to aftermarket goods on cars and them trying to protect their axx. If you get in a crash, they can disavow any responsibility/liability.

Yep I've had mine on over a year and never noticed. Sure enough just checked out the package and it shows the same thing. Just a CYA for them. Mine are doing fine. Anytime I've taken them off in the last year its been no problem to remove them.

Facts of life... no, not the tv sitcom!
The State of California knows everything!
There is no product on the market that the State of California doesn't know something about...
But, what happens off road, stays off road.
California can't claim knowledge of that! -

Thanks for all the replies! :o)

Legal California BS, as always. Almost all "niche" aftermarket parts say for off-road use only.
