I just recieved my new Vivitar DVR988HD 360 camera and was wondering, (1) if you have one or something like it and do you like it, (2) how you mounted it on your slingshot. I'm not really comfortable with just 3m tape holding it on my roll hoop with the amount of wind it will be subjected to.
Any suggestions anyone might have will be greatly appreciated.
Vivitar 360 Camera mounting?

Not a 360 but Garmin Virb XE - I either mount it to the center post behind the windshield or on the roll hoop with the RRR mount

After look at just about everything on the Rist Rocket web site I’ve not been able to find any roll hoop mounts.

yes, the went out of business a year or two ago so the website doesn't exist but it appears that they may be coming back because of recent activity on Facebook

there are any number of clamp style mounting adapters available for cameras - Camera mount clamp - check that link and also look around B&H site - I am sure they will have something that can clamp to the roll hoop and then use a small ball head to attach the camera to the clamp
If you are willing you could also drill a hole in the top of the hoop and tap it for 1/4 20 and put a 1/4 20 stud in it and then a standard tripod ball head would screw right on. This would be very strong and when removed would just leave the small threaded hole

A snap in plug when you are not running the mount

I am not big on the idea of taking a drill to my slingshot, but this is how I would do it if I wanted to mount a camera. with a 1/4 20 stud in the roll hoop I would then get a small ball head like this micro ballhead and then put the camera on that. It would be the strongest way to mount it and when removed, like you say just snap a plug in
you might not even need the ball head with a 360 camera just screw the camera right down on the stud 1/4 20 is the standard tripod mount every camera has

Check with @rabtech he had some of those mounts for the roll bar. I do not drill holes in my Slingshot either.

Another awesome feature of my 2018 is the bolt holes in the roll hoops. I bought a 1” 6mm ram mount ball, 9” arm and a go pro camera adapter and I am sooo good to go

can you get the camera up above the roll hoop using that mount? The reason I ask is because MWSlingshot wants to mount a 360 degree camera and for 360 degrees it would be best to get the camera up high enough so that its view isnt blocked by the hoops
