It was a stock engine with ARP head bolts, Alpha Turbo, Alpha Header, Alpha side exhaust, Tuned automatic transmission runs were made a year and half ago with Andy as the pilot.
That is pretty interesting
So, how many thousands upon thousands of dollars does it cost for this nominal time/speed gain over a stock Slingshot? Is the money spent worth the gain achieved? Are bragging rights worth the large amount of money spent? That is for each owner to decide...

I find that interesting as well.... Too bad Alpha is out of business now and I'd like to see the video of this as well... those are very stout numbers for a SlingShot....

I don't know about anyone else but I just do it because I can. Just trying to have 1 up slingshots with cool stuff. Had I come into this game later and all of this was already done I may have done things differently. Customizing was an addiction I caught early in life and no matter how much I went thru rehab I relapsed. No regrets I enjoy it. My attitude is if you don't try you will never know. So with that said I aint done.............
But that is just me.
Just as a side note having @Dave@DDMWorks standing in the shadows in a trench coat saying "hey slingshot dude -want some goodies" doesn't help one bit.
Devil’s Advocate; I could not tell you how these numbers stack up against a stock slingshot since none were there racing, but I do know that it is not the "Thousands of dollars spent" that is the point (unless they are your thousands), but that these type of hours and money spent is what can help further along our hobby and create a better machine for everyone in the long run. I for one enjoy the challenge of taking something that is already a decent machine and to try and push it to the limit and then go beyond that limit. I'd spend the money either way.... either on building a fun faster toy, or in a strip club! I think my wife Susi will tell you she'd rather it be the first one.
That is pretty interesting
The OG’s may remember ‘Contact Tower’(Mike), this SlingShot was originally owned by him.
@StickerDick do you think if we took these Hot Rods to the strip club we could make a better impression?
Maybe people would toss $1 bills in the seats and help fuel our addiction
But @rabtech said it was only fair to keep them looking like slingshots to be able to prove who had the Fastest SlingShot.... so he is the one who set the parameters for how we would run.
.
So you let the guy with the most $$$ invested and most power set the rules .......
Dude ....you know better ........ this is racing......not Congress ........

If it was Congress the race would have been shut down with no funding

Not only did it run a 11.299sec/115.99mph 1/4 mi but it did it with the complete OEM body including fenders.
I think this is still the best 1/4 mi, was not Bill’s either
I’ve seen those numbers before!

Was anyone there with a normally aspirated Sling or one with a supercharger? It would be interesting to see the differences.
Any word on Rabs runs today?

Pretty interesting that 2 completely different setups are running so close.
I guess you can cram all the hp you want and strip off as any parts as possible but the limitation is still there.
Congrats to @StickerDick for the first round of speed wins.
Can't wait to see what today brings.

I'd like to see the numbers @rabtech could put up if he had the traction of a 4 wheel conversion. @StickerDick and @rabtech are a great example and showed that we are all limited by the lack of drive wheel traction. Rab has way more horsepower and they ran pretty close to each other.

I was interested in that as well?

The video says "stock" slingshot? My ASS it's stock.... about as stock as mine! And a automatic is GREAT for the drag strip, but the fact that his Body was all there would not affect it in the 1/4 mile, would like to see what it would have done in the half mile... But It was quick and So I'll say that my 12+ second 1/4 mile is not that fast, but..... I'm not a drag racer. And I still was the fastest for the day on Saturday!
nice introduction video of the days event created by KentTerry of Central Florida slingers and D12
