During the 2020 United States presidential election, Merchan donated $15 to Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden's campaign, $10 to the Progressive Turnout Project, and $10 to Stop Republicans, a subsidiary of the previous. (yup, a whole 35$)

Sounds like he is a Democrat and not an anitTrumper.

herein lies the issue. There are very few if any bipartisan judges. There were either put there by a Republican, or a Democrat and pledge allegiance to that party, and more often than not to that person that put them there. Even though they are supposed to be neutral in their work ethics, it seems it rarely happens, on either side. It more a matter of where the trial is taking place. If it was in Florida the judge would be in Trumps back pocket..

The division among the US is staggering and its getting worse.

Well looking at that list and a whopping $35, one might think that he is just a Democrat.............

But he stands to be the furure King of the "Stop Republicans" hate club with the power he has in place right now ruling over this trial. Stop TRUMP, stop Republicans.

He shoulda kept his $10, because he alone can stop it......

or so he may think

Seriously - this is not Democrats vs Republicans - - perhaps in the past it might have been, but not now, now it is an elite political class made up of politicians on both sides of the isle who think they are above the people, they no longer believe they are "representatives' now they want to be Rulers and its them vs us and their tactic of dividing us against each other is working better right now than it ever has and if we allow it to continue and keep letting them pit right against left and left against right we will never truly see who the problem is.

if we ever want this country to get back to where "We The People" are whats most important and the politicians work for us we need to dismantel the entire two party system and start over - - so long as we keep blindly believing that the one party we support is right and the other party is wrong - - or that one party is the lesser of two evils they, the elite political class, will keep their power and will continue to act as "rulers" and not our representatives.

unfornunatly its not just that they allow this behavior, but they actively promote it. its just another tool they use to keep the people fighting each other and divided

All of this started back in the late 1970's. To start with, they called it union busting. That was not what they were doing or after. The real reason was to turn the large company employee's against each other. I called it what it was back then, and I was a union officer

The question in my mind....Why are all the protesters wearing "masks". Best I can remember is that no one ever wore masks before to protest anything before 2020.

To many of the wrong people at the protest rally????

So let's say hypothetically, the entire two party system is dismantled and the process starts over, as you suggest. The politicians are generally the same, with different viewpoints based on their party views. but you do have more choices. Now there are three parties to choose from.

You will now have three parties of elite political class made of up politicians on three corners of the triangle who think they are above the people. If your party does not get in power, you will still not be happy, regardless of which party you support.

All you really have done is created another monster, so you have three options instead of two, to pick the lesser of the three evils. You can't actually believe that having a 3rd monster will somehow fix the system?

Now what happens is the 3rd party tries to align themselves with the ruling party to get some of their concessions, while supporting the ruling party concessions. They won't align themselves with the other losing party as they then don't get any concessions.

Same monster, different way to get the same result.

no parties - no party financial support - individuals running with only the support of individual donors with donations severely limited and monitored - this along with term limits and a return to the private sector after serving. no career politicians and no lifetime pensions for retired politicians. no one should be able to make a living as a politician - it should be a service not a job - also personal wealth should not be allowed to give one person an advantage over others, government should provide equal time on the airways for all candidates to tell the public where they stand on issues and why we should choose them - it can be a condition of the FCC licensing to stations that they provide this time free of charge to candidates. Frankly I also would be perfectly okay if military service were also a requiement for political service - - - want to run this country then this would be a great way to earn the right to be considered - - oh and I also think all federal political offices should have the requirement that the office holder be a natural born U.S. citizens - - we dont need people coming from other countries and then telling us how to run our country
