Thanks for the tag @lrobbi!
@Nemesis1701 I love the way mine has turned out so far! I still plan to do the mesh inserts and maybe something else, but here is where I’m at so far...

My dealer said he had a few people ask what option did they need to get for the center hood removal. He was like,... WHAT??? He then saw mine and understood. @lrobbi is the godfather of mods for sure

might not be that old but he has a vision that is amazing
It is kind of disturbing to think @lrobbi started a cutter's club. Could be a direct reflection of an underlying problem for all of us. Once you start cutting, you will not know where to stop.
Oh I’ve been cutting and drilling holes for a while, @lrobbi just encouraged me to take it to the next level with him and you guys!!

Some members here are bad influence ( thats what i told my wife) when she freaked out asking what the heck was i doing to the SS.
I do have one question how did you guys do the side corners when its part of the hood?
They stay as part of the hood that goes under the inserts. You only cut the hood on the inside of the insert. The outside stays as part of the outer panel.

Ok I figured that much but part of me didn't want to accept that fact....maybe at this moment in time it's easier to find a spare hood on the web.
PMd you my number for when the time comes.

I thought the same thing.... get an extra hood. Don’t ! Just think it through, measure and mark at least three times then cut it with a cheap harbor freight vibrating cutter with a half round blade.
Of course, you will bite your nails to the quick, think about abandoning the whole idea, drink a few beers.... but once the cutting starts, it’s a breeze!
Call @Slingrazor as he will walk you through it!
@Painter Im soooooo glad im on high blood pressure meds!
You will fall in love again when you first put the cut hood on your ride!
OK, what vendor is going to start selling a kit for the mesh? I had my center hood on once, for about 10 minutes. Looked too plain, hasn't been on sense. I have it hanging on the wall

I understand. I wish I had not drilled the holes and mounted button receptacles in the frame. That was a waste of time and money.

I agree... my hood section has been hanging up for a while now... its just collecting dust Our 13 yr daughter asked if I was going to start selling the whole hood with the cut-outs and mesh... I said; no baby girl ... that would be one hell of a large package to get in the mail. I like that its catching on...and @Painter is right... you fall back in love with your SS all over again. Amazing!!
Anyone doing the mod should pay attention to what the 3 of us just said.
What have you all used to cut your hood? I used a dremel tool when i done my fender vents and it seemed to have melted the plastic instead of cutting it. looking for something to give a smooth cut and cut around corners.
