all stick shifts can be push started....just not in low gear...use second or third...

Correct. If I didn't know that after 27 years driving manual transmissions, I probably shouldn't be in the auto industry. I was just being funny because I had to get push started and Mitch was the one pushing. It's a running joke he and I have.

Reading this thread sparked a thought about something I don't believe I've read anywhere... Has anyone ever push started their Slingshot? Can it be done?

MACAWS can confirm it can be done. When I was in Maggie last year, I went out with him and a handful of other guys. When my sling gets hot after pushing hard for 30+min when I turn off the engine, it sometimes will not start. I've removed, cleaned, and replaced everything. Even replaced the starter and still happens. Mitch was kind enough to push start me a couple times that week. Fairly embarrassing but at least I know I got great friends.

Any recommendations on the fuel system components to match 26psi boost? I don't think there was anything posted on the website.

I'm assuming Rabtech was running 511whp on 93 octane, considering the 80# injector, if I'm putting the puzzle pieces together correctly. :)

From what I remember from talking to rabtech anytime he was making numbers in the 500+ neighborhood he was running a blend of 93 and race gas. From what he’s told me E85 isn’t available in his area. But he would be the one to confirm that.

Fuel pressure is 60psi. You want to keep it at 50psi or above. You shouldn't need to upgrade your in tank pump. In my scenario,
I ran E85 through my stock pump and it took me to around 400-450whp. E85 has a 20%-40% higher fuel demand and the stock pump was able to keep up just fine. The E85 killed the stock pump as it is not set up for that and the dryness of that fuel took the pump out. I then switched to the green AEM E85 pump which will flow E85 or gasoline and that pump has taken me to 550whp.

    - At what HP/BoostPressure running 93 octane should go with a manifold pressure referenced fuel pressure regulator? You're not going to need one. You're going to run out of fuel line flow capacity before you need a boost reference system. I'm JUST adding one this year as I go past 26psi running a blend of E98 and 110 with 160# injectors and I'm also now needing to upgrade the size of the fuel line to -8. Could probably use -6 but I don't ever want to do it again. I also did all this on the stock fuel rail.

    - What is recommended constant fuel pressure at 500whp? You always want your pressure to stay above 50-52psi regardless of power level.

    - What is recommended injector size for suggested fuel pressure at 500whp? To get to your goal you'd want to go to 80# injectors but again, you're not going to get to 500whp on just 93 octane. It's going to be hard to get that 7163 turbo you have to 500whp gasoline. Its peak efficiency is 25-27psi and it starts falling off pretty hard after that. You can do it on E85 but its a max effort build.

    Hope that helps a little.

It could be possible. Typically whine comes from having the wrong preload on the gears, so if the case flexes a little when the brace was installed that preload could change in theory. That is the first I've heard of that. I've been one of the "lucky" ones I guess and neither of my angle drives has never been very noisy to begin with.

I've driven the pedal max and pedal commander on customers slingshots. They basically do the same thing. One uses knobs for adjustments and one uses a phone app. Lots of people seem to like them but I'm with Wokka, I didn't care for it. I hated it on a turbo setup. On either setup boosted and non boosted, in town driving sucked no matter where it was adjusted unless it was off. On the highway it was fine but again, wasn't impressed. I think you get a better overall experience with a tune. We also offer a tune for $350 here https://zzperformance.com/coll…tune-for-the-na-slingshot We also offer a turbo kit which also includes tuning here https://zzperformance.com/coll…laris-slingshot-turbo-kit If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me here, email me at Kyle@zzperformance.com or my direct line is 616.421.4296 Hope that helps a little.

I really like that. I may have to give that a go. I didn't realize the dual magnet came with a metal sticky disc. Make a lot more sense. Thanks for the pics!

I have not used one but if it is anything like what their turbo kits look like I would probably stay away. Their turbo kits look like they are made up of universal China turbo kits from eBay. They do not run an intercooler or a tune which would mean more red flags to me.

I do not know what your budget is or what style you are looking for exactly but we have a new 2.5" rear exit exhaust that comes with our header. Its all made by hand in house out of 304 stainless. Most of the competitors out there are using aluminized mild steel. You can see it here if you'd like https://zzperformance.com/coll…slingshot-exhaust-package and you can hear it here

AND, if you ever decide to go turbo, this exhaust will work with it. You'll just need to add a dump tube which I can supply you with. If you have any questions you can reach out here, email me directly at Kyle@zzperformance.com, or my direct line is 616.421.4296

Glad to hear you are working safely!

If you can, please reserve one of these for me when I come up to see you for major Slingshot surgery in a few weeks!

If you need me to pre-pay for one of these hot 🔥 products to get a spot in line, just let me know.

We have another round in cue to be made. I'll send you an invoice for one so I can pull it out of stock for you. We have a group buy coming in today that is going to claim most of what we currently have.

I've been looking into phone mounts. I currently just put mine between the e brake and the center arm rest. Where do you stick the mount to that is metal? The only thing I can think of is the windshield support but not sure it would stick to that.

Kyle, any update on when those are gonna be shipped out?

We are working on pulling orders together as fast as we can right now. There is a state wide no work shut down here in MI and we are running on a skeleton crew of 6-10 people vs our normal 56 people. We are getting orders out as fast as we can but we are a bit behind currently. I am hoping they will go out this week. Once your order has been assigned a tracking number you should get an automatically generated email with your tracking info. I apologize for the delay. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

these look great. I have to figure out what each feature does but looks like this is what I will order. Does it require a bar?

Here is what I did. I went with the standard harness. They offer a 4 point or a 5 point. I would highly recommend a 5 point. The 5th attachment point is a crotch strap. This eliminates what is called the submarine effect. The submarine effect happens when you are in a front end collision and you slide down and partially out of the harness. With the crotch strap this doesn't happen. It also keeps the lap belt across your lap.

For the closure, I went with a cam lock. It costs more but its easier to get in and out of. To get in you just insert the buckles into the cam lock and they automatically lock in like a normal seat belt. To get out, you just twist the handle to the right or left and all of the buckles release and pop out.

I also added both shoulder and pelvic pads. Those will make the shoulder straps more comfortable and god forbid you have an accident the pelvic pad will be between your crotch and that strap instead of just having the strap there to stop your crotch.

I did not add the pull tabs or release loops. However, in hindsight, I wish I would have. It's only $25 and it would've made loosening the straps before releasing them from the cam lock a lot easier. It's not hard now but $25 for the convenience factor is my only regret with these.

I did not add the sternum strap.

For the attachments it's all going to depend on how you plan on mounting them. Some people bolt them right under the roll hoops. I do not know if the bolt holes on these are large enough for those bolts to pass through. I know one company used to offer a harness bar. I do not remember who. That would probably be your easiest moutning solution for the shoulder straps and you could use the tube mount option for that. For the lap belt, I would see if you can use the bolt in option for that and see if your existing seats have accommodations for the stock seat belt lock and strap. If they do, you can likely just use the provided bolt holes for that. I would measure the diameter of that bolt and call team tech and see what the diameter of the bolt on hole option is. For the crotch strap you'll have to see what is available to use under the seat. and maybe you can clip or bolt to the seat frame.

    Hope that helps a little.

I just wish you were still offering the header / front exit muffler kit you had not that long ago - - not sure if I will ever change what I have but that one was right at the top of my list - - I have no desire to deal with installing a rear exit system - and here in CA I pretty much have to do it myself - most shops wouldnt do it because of the states laws

We discontinued it because the mufflers were not working with the NA setup and it was too loud and had a lot of drone.

Doc&Ruby was actually a test pilot for this system for us and even after 3-4 redesigns of the muffler, they still had a high failure rate. He actually provided us with a ton of useful data during the testing phase which was greatly appreciated. The NA setup produces a ton of engine vibration in that area to where it breaks the welds apart on the inside of the muffler. This is not an issue with the turbo setup as it provides more support to the muffler with the recirc flex and diffuses the exhaust more as it passes through the turbo.

As a thank you for his patience testing out multiple muffler designs for us and giving us the detailed data reports we needed, when he comes in for his turbo install we are giving him a rear exit upgrade for free and a discount on the install labor.

of the available headers I love the way this one looks - Full Blown Motorsports Polaris Slingshot header

    img_3050_1.jpg

They say it produces 17 more WHP which would be very impressive, but I have no idea if its actually any good, but it sure looks purdy

    [/quote]

That header nor any other header, including mine, will produce 17whp. It’s just not possible on the 2.4 without boost. It’s part of that misinformation that I always speak about when companies make obnoxiously exaggerated power gains claims on their products just to sell parts.

In regards to the exhausts out there I will say this. My header and exhaust package is not the least expensive option out there. It is however the highest quality and sounds the best. You get what you pay for with our exhausts. I’ve had 4 slingshots here recently all having the most expensive exhaust options on the market. They’re all made out of aluminized mild steel and all were rusting. The exhausts I sell are all 304 stainless and cost half of their most expensive option.

They're not going to give you a ton of raw power. You'll get some gains but for $765 it's not a ton of bang for the buck for a set of headers and an exhaust. I have a header and rear exit exhaust package now that you can see here https://zzperformance.com/coll…slingshot-exhaust-package but it's $585 more than the 1320 parts you're looking at. It does sound awesome though. You can hear it here if you're interested

Definitely check out the article that Edward Neal posted that I did. You can see how much power each of those mods will net you. Also happy to answer any questions you may have so feel free to reach out. Stay safe out there everyone.
